An outcome of fate and hope.

A seperation of differences

It was about 20 years later, as the sun rose on the horizon of the flower filled mountain, it was clear to see the town thrive, children playing around the water fountain and many stores making their business heard as usual, it was quite a small town with small wooden cottages with a nice touch of nature and flowers, growing naturally and wildlife scurrying or wondering around.

After gazing through the window, the mother smiled, looking at all of the scenery around her, then all of a sudden she heard a loud beep of a car horn, she then looked closely at the car and jumped in joy and ran out the door.

 "Mom!" A man dressed in a black suit and his hair as black as gorgeous as the night sky, arises from the car and opens his arms in a big smile. The mother then tackled her son and hugged him really tightly, tears of joy came from her eyes. 

"Derick! After all this time! I can't believe it's you! Oh! How have you been!" He gave a big smile.

 "I couldn't be better, thanks to you Mom, after finishing university, I got into a rich business and I've made some really good friends."

All of a sudden his mom than stared at him in a quite sinister way. "So... Have you found anyone you really like?" Derick shocked, jumped backwards and blushed.

"W-w-well you see there is this one girl a-a-and..." His mom stared at him with stars in her eyes. "And?!" Derick paused for a moment, flustered. "A-a-and I-" "Derick!!" He screamed girlishly out of shock which only caused his mother to laugh a tiny bit then she stared at this other man questionably. 

He had regular attire and messy blue hair, he also looked to be quite tired and annoyed at the same time. "Excuse me but... Do I know you?" The mother then examined him from head to toe then looked back up at his face as he started crying a bit.

 "How could you be so selfish! I'm your son, Lucas! Did you just forget because of how much better Derick is than me?!" The mother looked shocked and sad at the same time. 

"I-I'm sorry, I-.., I didn't realise, I just-" "Lucas it's not like that! Please she's been working very hard, you have to understand, especially after..." Derick looked down.

"After what?! I know you've been keeping something from me! I'm not blind!" Lucas glared at him with frustration and sadness in his eyes, almost like a raging fire about to explode.

"Lucas, I haven't told you this because mom asked me not to tell you... However... Lucas.. Our father died, a long time ago."

Lucas just glared at him, eyes wide open, shaking and he dropped his hands to his sides defeated. "H-how long?" He murdered quietly under his breath. 

"Huh?" Derick questioned. "Just... How long have you been keeping this from me?! I'm your brother aren't I?! I'm much smarter than you-" He then thought back to when he was a child and Derick seemed different for the day and when he wouldn't tell him what happened, he just now figured that out.

"Y-you! You've been keeping it from me this whole time! Even though we're family! You know what! I'm done with this! I'm going to go somewhere where you've been keeping me from this whole time!" He then starts running towards the forest. 

"Lucas..." Derick said shocked.

"Lucas wait! No!" Derick shouted after him and ran after him, then he slowed down and looked towards his mother, knowing he's about to enter a dangerous place.

"It'll be ok, however you need to go after him, that forest... It isn't safe... I know he may not be in a good state or a good mood, most of the time he just procrastinates and gets in trouble. However... He is still your brother, so please go after him." Derick smiled and then nodded. 

"Right!" He then started running off. 

"Oh and Derick?!" His mom called out to him as he turned around. 

"Take good care of him ok?" He looked back and waved, she smiled waving him off.

"Don't worry, I will! No matter what." He then continued running as his mother watched him, with tears running down her face, either in joy, or possibly, some kind of sadness.
