Chapter One- Mom, I HAVE to go on this trip
"But Mom!!!" I begged to my mom.
"No buts, I don't want you going on this trip. Especially if I can't chaperone. I'm just not up for it."
"Dad says it's cool!" I grabbed her arm and pulled on it. I made the best puppy dog face I could.
"Haley, your dad doesn't even live with us. I'm not about to make this decision of of what your father thinks. The answer is no."
"MOM! Dad is just as much of my parent as you are."
"He's not raising you. I am."
"He used to raise me. Before you two got a divorce. I'm going to miss out! This is our senior trip. I'm not going to get a chance like this ever again, Mom. Plus I'll having nothing to do but mope around the entire time they're gone anyway. Mom, you have to let me go."
"Fine, I'll think about it. This isn't etched in stone yet though, so don't get too excited."
"Thank you thank you thank you thank, you." I said giving her a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek.
"It's not a definite yes, Haley." I just smiled and ran to my room. I called my crazy best friend, Emma, who I'd known since preschool.
"Emma, I'm totally going!"
"Yay! This is gonna be todes awesome. I'm so excited! We're definitely gonna live this to the fullest. Parties every night girl!" she said.
"Yes! I'm single and ready to mingle! You know the Hollywood guys are HOT! This is gonna be so much fun!" I squealed.
"Meet me at my house in fifteen. We're going shopping!"
"Sounds like a plan!"
"Totally, bye girlie."
"Bye." I hung up the phone. I went and did my hair. It was a complete mess. I pulled it back in a pony. I quickly changed, got my bag and was on my way.
"Bye mom, going shopping with Emma!"
"Don't stay out too late, Haley."
"I won't!" I yelled. I ran to my car and drove off. Five minutes later, I pulled up to Em's driveway. I didn't bother knocking and just went straight in, knowing her door would be open anyway.
"Emma? I'm here!" I yelled.
"I'm in my room!" she yelled back.
"Kay," I said and walked up her ballroom-like stairway.
"You ready?" she asked when I walked in her room.
"Yep, you?"
"Almost. Which shorts should I wear? The red or the yellow?"
"Yellow, definitely." I said. She had on a cute striped cardigan. It was white and navy blue. She had a navy blue shirt underneath. "Cute outfit!" I said.
"You too." I was wearing a short but flowing skirt and a blazer.
"Thanks!" she put the yellow shorts on and we were on our way.
"So, where to first?" she asked when I pulled into the parking lot.
"Forever 21 of course!" I said.
"Eep! Let's go!" she said and we were off. she linked her arm in mine and we both pulled down our sunglasses. We were hot and weren't afraid to show it. That's what being popular's all about right?
Ten minutes later, we were in the biggest dressing room they had with two huge piles of clothes. First, I tried on a cut-off that said "OMG". It was neon blue. I paired it with super short khaki shorts with pockets that came out the bottoms.
Emma tried on a cute strapless dress. It was purple and opened up in a V. It had a built in glittery camisole. It was absolutely stunning. "You like?" she asked. I nodded.
"It's beautiful! How's mine?" I said gesturing with my hand from the top to bottom of my outfit.
"Caaaaute!" she sang. We tried on the rest of the clothes and came out of the shop with two bags each.
"Hey, let's go get some cinnamon buns. I'm having a major sweet tooth," I said.
"Sure, I love their sauce!" she said smirking.
"Well look who it is! Hottie One and Hottie Two." We turned around to see who said that and saw our friends Ethan and Olivia.
"Hey, Ethan," Emma said. He was a huge flirt.
"Hey, Emma, how you doing?" he said wiggling his eyebrow.
"Seriously, Ethan you're a pig," Emma said. Those two would end up together one day. It was bound to happen.
"Hey, Olivia," I said giving her a hug.
"What's up girl?" she said.
"Shopping for this trip. You too?" I asked.
"Yeah," we both looked over and Ethan had Emma thrown over his shoulder and was spinning around. She screamed stop but it didn't seem like she wanted him to.
"I want my buns! Let's go." I said and walked off. Everybody trailed behind me and I walked up to the nearest booth.
"Hi, what would you like?" the cashier asked.
"One large cinnamon bun with extra sauce please."
"Okay, that'll be $3.80 please," I handed the cashier the money and went to the pick up line. The prices here were ridiculous, but I have to admit, they made the best cinnamon buns I've ever tasted.
I went and waited on a bench for everyone else and started eating. It was absolutely delicious. I looked at the advertisement board and saw a picture of Josh Hutcherson. Ew. I don't understand what the big whoop was about him. As far as I'm concerned, he could fall of the face of the earth and I wouldn't really care. In my mind, he was a nobody. Everybody else walked up then.
"You know, I don't get why Josh Hutcherson is so famous. I mean, he's not even cute for crying out loud." I said. Olivia gasped.
"He's so adorable! I saw Hunger Games three times just for him! How could you not like J Hutch?" she said.
"I don't know. I just don't. That's all there is to it," I said. I finished my bun and threw away the container. I looked at the advertisement again and shook my head. So overrated.
"Well you guys, I think Haley and I are gonna finish shopping. By, Olivia," Emma said.
"What? No bye for me babe?" Ethan said. She just scoffed and made a disgusted face.
"Good bye, Ethan," she said.
"Bye you two," I said waving and smiling. Emma took my arm again and we walked away. When we were out of their hearing I stopped Emma.
"You totally have a thing for Ethan," I said.
"As if!" she said trying to make a straight face. She ended up smiling though.
"Mhmm," I said giving her a face.
"Well I don't!" she said. Then she blushed and looked down to try to hide it.
"Of course not, babe. Of course not."
