(here's a totally unrelated but beautiful Taiyou for you to look at. You're welcome)
(I've decided to give myself a word goal for each chapter of this story- 1000)
(also quick note: Akamine is the family's surname)
"(F/N)! It's time for breakfast!"
(E/C) eyes slowly opened as (F/N) stretched. For a moment, they were confused about where they were, but quickly realised that they were now living with their adoptive parents and their son. His name was Ren (yep. Only my irl friends will know him) and he had long white hair that reached his waist. It was really soft too. He was honestly the girliest boy (F/N) had ever met, and he was really sassy and kinda mean at first, but he quickly warmed up to them. They were siblings now, after all.
Ren was a good older brother, really. He was a year older than (F/N), and attended a school called Raimon. He usually wore his hair in twin tails, but wore it in a high ponytail in school because it made him look slightly less feminine. The adoptive parents were planning to enroll (F/N) to Raimon in the next term, which wouldn't be too long, since it was the last week of the term. Ren promised to stand up for them if they were picked on.
He was the second person (F/N) really opened up to. He kind of reminded them of...
Midorikawa...
God, they missed him. He was like a brother to them. But now Ren was filling that role. And they liked Ren. He was kind to them and taught them how to make their hair soft and fluffy without going poofy. They were actually looking forward to the first day of school.

The sun filtered in through the blinds of the shared bedroom as (F/N) rubbed their eyes and sat up. The sun was such a rare thing to them, and they had to squint to see properly. They looked over to the bed on the other side of the room. Ren had already woken up, and judging by the t-shirt and shorts sloppily thrown onto the floor, he had already gotten dressed too.
Today was going to be (F/N)'s first day at Raimon as a first year. They pushed the black duvet off of themselves. The whole room was black and neon pink, since it was originally only Ren's room, and he didn't mind sharing. Apparently he loved the combination, and so his walls, bed and even clothes were all themed around those colours.
They walked towards the black wardrobe with a pink door and opened it. Inside was a blinding but still fashionable array of black and pink clothing. It looked like some 2009 punk rock phase gone haywire. They actually quite liked the aesthetic, to be completely honest. They quickly found the uniform, since it stuck out like a sore thumb with its blue and yellow/white colour scheme.
They pulled the uniform out and went into the bathroom to get dressed out of their simple vest and shorts. They looked at themselves in the mirror, hating the sight before them. Mother had always told them that they were disgusting, a waste of space, a waste of oxygen. Rich, coming from the woman smoking at least nine cigarettes a day. Still, the remarks did hurt them, and seemed to replay in their head every time they saw their reflection. They sighed and got dressed.
When they got downstairs, they found Ren sitting on the arm of the sofa (why not sit on the actual sofa??) and watching some kind of anime about a yellow octopus while eating a slightly burnt slice of toast. "Don't worry, the other slice isn't burnt. It's on the island, you can have it." he called, not taking his eyes off of the TV. (F/N) hummed and went into the kitchen-diner, where they found the (not burnt) slice of toast on a plate. How thoughtful of him. (F/N) knew that their adoptive parents had work and would rarely be in the house when they woke up, so it was either that or (F/N) making toast themselves. And let's be honest, if they tried, the house would probably burn down. (F/N) had no clue how to cook anything.
