Short Shopping Trip

'I'll be back for 5 o clock! ' I shouted to Peeta as I walked out of our door.

'Love you! Have a nice shopping trip, please get me a new shirt if you can! '

' I will, love you too! Bye Peeta!' I said as I closed the door.

I was so excited as I was going on a little shopping spree with the money from mine and Peeta's engagement, we shared some of it out so we could have 'me ' time! The remaining money we are spending on decorating the baby's room, before he/she comes! Peeta wanted to paint it an emerald green colour, but I retorted because we don't know it's gender yet, so we are painting it yellow. Every kid likes yellow... I think?

After buying petite flower baskets for my bridesmaids, I head into another shop, this time for a new shirt for Peeta. I quickly grab my phone out of my bag before entering, and phone him. The phone rings six times, and then goes to voicemail. I ring again, this time he finally picks up.

' Peeta Mellark Bakeries. Who is this? ' Peeta says smartly into the phone. I must have rung his work phone by accident, since he got a large payment from work a few months ago, he opened his own bakery.

'Hey babe, It's Katniss! '

'Oh hi, are you having a good time?' He ask happily.

' Yeah, I've got some flower baskets for the girls, and I'm just in the shop looking for a shirt for you... ' I reply back.

'Before you ask, please may I have a black shirt? 'He asks, he always seems to know what is on my mind!

' Yeah ok, see you later, love you bye! ' I say speedily.

'Um, bye? ' Peeta says in a confused tone. I guess he's wondering why I need to go so fast, to be honest, I just want to be alone for a bit!

I shove my phone back into my maroon leather bag, and head into the store. I pick up a few mens shirts, and have a mini debate with myself which one Peeta would like best. I decide on a smart V Neck vest top, and a formal button-up shirt. He only wanted one, but I got him two because I was feeling like I needed to pay him back for the card that he generously gave me!

I shopped for a few more things, and then I enter a toy shop, because our new coming bundle of joy might be needing some baby proof teddies. The room is very large, and teddies stacked it to tall piles are scattered around the widescale room. I pick up a small koala teddy, and examine it to check that its perfect whilst walking up to the payment desk. I was looking at the tag when I stumbled into someone, and I fly back into a giant pile of teddies. Just as I am about to fall into the bundle, a strong hand grabs me. Saves me from pure humiliation, imagine being sat in a giant cluster of teddies, looking like a clumsy comedy act!

' Oh my gosh!S...Sorry! ' I say frantically as they pull me close to their chest.

'No problem, you would have looked so embarrassed! ' He says ass he chuckles quietly to himself.

I step back, adjust my frilly neck collar, and place my footing.

'  Thanks, so much, ' I say gratefully ' I am Katniss, and you are?'

'Jack, I'm Jack Mellark... ' He says, with a cheesy grin.

' Are you, are you related to.... ' I say with a shocked look on my bewildered face.

' Peeta Mellark? Yes, yes I am. We are step brothers, but he barely knew me until you won the games, because of family problems! ' He said, burrowing his frow.

'Oh, me and him are...' I say, but before I can carry on, Jack steps in,

' Getting married, yes I know. Such a shame that a lovely woman like you is taken. I would have surely made a move for you... ' He exhales deeply, and seems to be purely dissapointed.

My heart begins to flutter, and I think back to thr wedding. Instead I see Jack and I, in a happy embrace, showing our love to the world. Immediately I try and block these thought out of my head,

I can't love him, this is not possible! Katniss think, you cant date your husband-to-be's cousin. No Katniss, stop it, no... no..KATNISS!

' Um so Jack, how about dinner tomorrow? I should probably let myself get to know my new family before we marry! ' I say, trying to stop myself!

IDIOT KATNISS! ARE YOU JOKING!

'Lovely! I can't wait, message me the details! ' He kisses me on he cheek, and I am astonished. After a few minutes my thoughts come flying back into my head. I slowly realise,

I love my boyfriend's brother, this CANNOT be seriously happening!

Oh dear, what have I gotten myself into???
