I was driving to the post office to deliver something for my mom. I was actually supposed to take it about 2 hours ago, but I made the decision of going to my friend's house first.
Anyways, I had arrived to the post office and as soon as I got out of my car, I received a call. I wasn't sure I wanted to answer it, because recently I had been receiving a lot of call for tax, and debt shit. You know, scammers. But for some odd reason, I really felt like I needed to answer it.
And I did
"Hello?" I said into the phone kind of sarcastically, thinking it was going to be a 'Belinda' or 'Karen' from your local tax office.
But no
"Hello, is this Mrs. Zara Violet?" The lady spoke calmly into the phone. "Yes?" I answered. "Well, this sort of information is always hard to deliver, but your mother, Sharen, is in the hospital. We picked her up in an ambulance about 30 minutes to an hour ago." She spoke. My face turned bright red, and my heart literally stopped. "I-IS SHE OKAY?!?" I questions loud enough to where the other people walking across the street could hear. " I'm afraid not" she began "I don't know if you all knew this or now, but your bother had a tumor." She said "Had?" I questioned, about to cry. "Um, yes Mrs. Violet. She passed away 10 minutes ago. I thought I'd call her first emergency contact number and deliver the news. I'm so sorry, Mrs. Violet." She says.
I dropped my phone out of my hand started sobbing on the ground, everyone around looking directly at me. But I didn't care. I just lost my mother, the only thing I had in life. The only person who truly cared for me, the woman who carried my in her stomach for 9 months! At this point, I truly have nothing to live for.
