There had been raining outside for almost two hours. Well, sky had been so dark since morning tho, no wonder the rain was hitting the earth so hard.
School ended about 45 minutes ago, but the kids who didn't bring umbrella or had no one to pick them up decided to retreat back to their classroom or anywhere else in the building.
Jungwoo was one of them who stayed.
Not like the other kids who busy playing game, or watching youtube video, or chit-chating with their friends, Jungwoo sat still on his place by the window. He was staring at the rain that looked like just a blur white fog outside; but Jungwoo somehow could make up the water drops falling from the sky on his mind.
Jungwoo used to like the rain a lot. He used to like how the smell of it at first time the water hit the dry soil; he used to like how cold it felt against his palm when he slipped a hand from his window just to touch the droplets. He didn't actually know why he was excited about touching the rain. But when he got older, he felt a little bit sick of it. The coldness and dark sky can be the whole reason to be in bad mood. It always been very gloomy.
"Man, it's getting wild!"
Lucas exclaimed, he was also staring at the howling rain. Yes, the rain getting wild together with the wind.
Jungwoo stared up at him, his brows furrowed. Lucas should be at basketball court for the try out, but hence he was there standing right before Jungwoo eyes.
"You said you had try out."
"Yeah, but cancelled."
Jungwoo didn't ask again. Maybe it was the rain the reason they cencelled the try out. Even though their school had indoor court, the howling rain should be quite worrying.
Lucas pulled the chair to sit in front of Jungwoo. The screeching he made from pulling, got him glared at by the other classmates.
"Sorry." He said it with a grin, looked like he was not sorry at all to the girls chit-chatting not far from them. One of the girls rolled her eyes before got back to their interrupted conversation.
"I saw you brought an umbrella this morning."
Lucas folded his arm on his chair's leaner.
"Yeah." Jungwoo answered lightly, but that simple answer could making Lucas blood gone chill.
Lucas really liked Jungwoo's voice, especially when they sounded so nonchalant. Lucas never heard Jungwoo sing tho, but he could bet a life that Jungwoo's voice was gonna be like heaven.
"Then why still here?" Lucas asked again. Not that he didn't like Jungwoo still there, but it was quite odd.
"You think I shouldn't be here?"
"No, I think you would want to go home ASAP."
"Being home would be so lonely. I like it here." Jungwoo glanced at the remaining people in their class and then staring at the rain again.
"You may use my umbrella if you wish." Jungwoo added, but he didn't look at Lucas.
"No. I'll stay with you."
No answer.
"Hey Jungwoo."
"Yeah."
Lucas heart melt with those soft voice and warm gaze.
"Tell me about the rain."
"What about the rain?"
"Tell me why do you love it."
