The walls of his room were a bright white, the sun reflecting off of them making the room cheerful. I woke up with his arms wrapped around my waist which sent butterflies through my limbs. I rolled over to rest my head in his neck, only to find that he was awake. I greeted him with a good morning kiss and continued with putting my head in his neck.

"Baby wait a minute I want to talk to you." I sat up and asked what was wrong.

"You have to leave by 11:45, I'm sorry."

I was confused on why he was asking me to leave but I slowly got up and started to get ready to leave. I took off the shirt of his that I was wearing, which was so comfortable I wished he would've let me keep it. I pulled a stones shirt over my head and put on a pair of black jeans.

"So why am I leaving so early?"

A sense of lies crept over the room as Gio explained to me how his mom was making him go with to a barbecue. As I twisted my hair up into a bun, he came up behind me and wrapped his gorgeous arms around my waist.

"You know that I would much rather spend my day with you, baby doll."

I smiled and he pressed his lips on mine. I wanted more than anything to stay there forever, to never leave his arms, but I knew that I would have to leave soon enough. The clock read 11:32am and I started to put on my boots. Gio didn't look too upset that I was leaving, but it was a somewhat believable act. I grabbed my purse and pecked him on the cheek before I walked out the door. I started on the 2 mile walk home and began to think. It's a cloudy day in late October and it didn't make much sense to be having a barbecue at this time of year, but I had to believe that he would be faithful to me and he wasn't lying. I was halfway to my house when I finally got the thought of him lying to me out of my head.

Fall is my favorite season. The trees look like fireworks and the clouds match my moods. Always dark, always mysterious, always different. I finally arrived on my front step and reached under the doormat for the key. Before opening the door, I paused. I took a deep breath and opened the door as quietly as I could. I slowly walked through the kitchen into the living room, light on my feet, to see my dad passed out on the couch with an empty bottle on the floor. I was thankful that he wasn't awake as I started to tip toe up the stairs. I got to my room and locked the door behind me. My room was black with posters of my favorite bands. It had other decorations too, like some pictures on a bulletin board of me and my mom or the lamp on my nightstand that had "Laney" painted along the bottom. I decided to take advantage of the weather and put on my coat and started to make my way back downstairs to try and get out of the house. My dad was still on the couch, sound asleep, as I quickly and quietly slipped out the front door.
