you sit with Peter, MJ and ned at lunch and you guys talk about experiences you've all had..

but more specifically, you

"wait... actually.. he just up-and-left and for like a week then came back for a few hours then left for another week.. crazy.." ned says trying to understand the timeline of the past couple years of your life.

"yeah.. apparently he was fighting with some of the other avengers about some kind of government contract?.." you start to ramble on about the many things your dad does to annoy you.
"It was classified but that was one of the days I was just chilling at the tower and it got pretty intense
. that's when he bought us a new apartment so I could be 'sent home' (air quotes..).. it was crazy annoying but I wasn't too surprised, he does stuff like that all the time.." you continue talking.
Peter is trying his best to sympathize with you, but he know more about it than you do! he's trying too look like he's learning all this for the first time..

"he's never around unless I'm in trouble for something or doing something that makes him look bad or 'puts all of the avengers in jepoedy' and cares more about driving home spider man, then he cares about seeing his own daughter for the first time in months before he leaves again..!" you continue rambling.. Peter spits out a bit of his drink when he hears you mention Spiderman....

the three others stare at you then at Peter then back at you then back at Peter..

"did i.. say something".. you look kinda anxiously at them

its my first day with actual friends and I already fucked something up...

"..." Mj and Peter are silent..

"Peterknowsspiederman!" ned yells, Peter looks terrified and buries his face in his hands before meekly looking up to explain himself....

"w-w-well not.. only kinda.. I see him at.." he pauses realizing that you might see through his normal excuse "...the stark.. er your dad's.. intern.. ship.."

"you mean.. you've met him? I've only ever seen him a few time from a distance, he seems... " you can't quite seem to find the word.. the others all guess what you could be thinking..

"enticing..?" ned sugets

"n-no.." you respond..

"n-nice..?" Peter asks hoping it was a more positive word. you rub your temples, its on the tip of my tongue you think.

"not. qui.." you say before getting interrupted by MJ

"conceited." she says matter-of-factly

"yeah, thats it" you say with a little question in your voice, mj glances slightly over at Peter who's faces has gone a bit pale
"he's kinda of a show off, like when he does all those flips and stuff.. id like to meet him tho... he's the last of the avengers I need to meet for my bingo stamp card... and who knows, maybe he could change my mind.. maybe..."
he didn't seem mean, or anythings just al little show-ofdy and egotistical.. which can be frustrating.. Peter looks hopeful "did she just called me an avenger?" he whispers to ned who look almost equally as upset as Peter did a few moments prior. "y-yeah I think so.." he responds

the conversation turns towards spider man .. "I think he's cool.." Peter says, trying to not to sound conceited or to give his identity away.
"well any one with abilities like his is cool in my book" ned says giving a friendly look at Peter
"I agree with y/n.. he seems like a try hard" mj says, not seriously but only ned and Peter know that, she's only playing Devils advocate to mess with Peter... "I-I never said that he was a try hard, I said he was a conceited show off, those are two different things.."
"well they... are similar" ned says making you feel a bit bad.. "well... thats.. not what I was ... trying to convey.. " you says a bit annoyed and a bit flustered.. "honestly he does seem like a good guy, he saves many peoples lives every day and he does it by choice... and he doesn't get paid or anything... that kinda crazy.. calling him a try hard should be a complement.. because he does try hard.. to keep people safe and he might show off a bit, and all I'm saying is that is could develop into a tragic flaw.. so yeah.. " you didn't mean to get that... way..? but it makes Peter a bit happy inside to know that you don't hate him.. err. spider man, that you don't hate spiderman
