Chapter 9: Oh Brother

Why was she at his house? I mean, she has been missing for a while since our argument, but I didn't know she was pregnant! Is she pregnant by him? This all makes sense. The reason she's been missing, why he's been missing, everything is coming together. I see now. And he wonders why I don't want to start a relationship with him.

"Paige? Why are you here," Kendra asked. Paige turned around and yelled for Tre. "Trevor! You got some freinds here for you". She walked away from the door, leaving it open, and sat down on his couch. He came to the door and looked as if he seen a ghost. "Kendra...Zee...What are you guys doing here?". "Why are we doing here? What is she doing here," I asked him. I walked away after I said that and he followed.

"Wait! Zee. C'mon, why are you leaving?". "Because she's here. She's been missing, you've been missing. Then I come here and she's pregnant?". "I can see how this looks but...". "No. I'm done. I am". I started crying because I felt betrayed. "You've been ignoring my calls and text. Haven't returned a single one and you expect me to believe that whatever comes out your mouth is the truth?".

"I've been taking care of her here and there when I can. But this shouldn't affect me and your relationship. We can work this out, trust me". "Really?". I slapped him and just stared. After that, I left and Kendra followed. I cried on the way to her house because I was hurt.

He really got her pregnant and then said we can make this work. What? I was considering starting something with him, but I guess that's over. Now my spring break is over as well. God, why me? When we got to Ken's house, we sat on the couch eating ice cream and watched movies. After the movie was over, we started alking.

"Girl you ok?". "I don't think I'll ever be ok. I mean, he really betrayed me. Three days before this, he was talking about how he wanted to start a relationship with me and how I can trust him and shit. Now this? Why would he do this to me? After I broke up with D too? I just can't do this anymore. I'm ready to graduate and be done with all of this".

"Girl it's ok. Forget about both of them. They don't need you. You're a pretty girl and can have any man you want. Hey if they don't know a good thing when they see one, go gay". "What?". "Yep. Go gay. It ain't that bad, trust me. I've dabbed in that area". "Um, yeah, I remember Ken". "But all I want you to do is stop crying over these men. They ain't shit". Her mom came in the house after her mini speech.

"Hey girls". "Hey mom". We helped with the groceries on her way in. Afterwards, she cooked dinner. I really didn't want to go home, so I aksed if I could stay. Of course they said yes, I'm always welcomed. Dinner was amazing. I haven't had a great dinner like that since I was about fourteen. Ken and I went to her room after dinner and went to sleep.

I had the worst dream last night. It was about Deandre telling me over and over "I told you so". I really didn't want to here that. But Tre and I were married and he ended up killing me just like my father did with my mother. Yes, worst dream I've ever had. The next day, my mom came to pick me up. No, I didn't call her or anything, she just showed up. I wasn't to surprised because for one, I didn't call her to let her know I wasn't coming home. And two, she hates Kendra and figured I would be here.

On the way home, of course we argued about it. I just don't understand what's her problem. "Why do you have such a problem with Ken and her mom?". "I just don't need you and her to end up like me and your mother". "What do you mean?". "Look, Kenya and her mom will take you away from me soon. I just know it". "Her name is Kendra, and no they are not. The rate you going, I might live with them".

Yeah, I got smart because she was aggrivating me. It's never that serious. When we got home, I went straight to my room and found that my window was open. I was scared and entered in  slowly. On my bed was a note. It was a note that said, "Zee, we need to talk. Listen, I know I've messed up and I want to make it up to you. I usually don't do this, but here it goes. From the first time we spoke, I knew you were special. I know Paige was involved, but she was irrelevant compared to you. I've never seen someone so beautiful in my life. Yes it's a line from somewhere, but it's the truth. I never thought I'd fall in love with someone so quick. So please, talk to me. I miss you and I love you. Signed, him".

The letter was beautiful and I knew who it was from. I wanted to go to his house and talk to him, but i decided not to. The next day, there was some party that Ken wanted me to go to. Of course she had to beg me because I don't do parties. We went to the mall, got some clothes and shoes, then went to her house to change.

Her mom let her borrow the car and we headed to this club. The club is usually eighteen and older, but apparently the host rented it out for all ages for the night. It was called Club Furr. When we went inside, we saw lots of people from our school. I guess this was a way of relaxation for spring break. Kendra thought she was slick and tried to order a drink at the bar, but of course the bartender said no. They gave her a coke instead.

"This club sucks," Ken said. "Why? Because they didn't give you a drink? This is still a club Ken". "I know, I know". We were sitting at the bar until a guy came up to talk to me. "Zenia!? Is that you?". "Um, depends, who are you?". "Oh my God! It's you!". He grabbed me and hugged me so tight. I was confused because I did not know him at all.

"Um, do I know you sir?". "Oh C'mon, really? You don't know who I am?". "If I did I wouldn't be asking you!". "Damn, just like your mom". "Wait, you know my mother?". "Zenia, it's me! Ryan!". "Ryan who?". "Ryan! Ryan Carter! Your brother"...
