"My brother? I don't have a brother, you must be mistken". "No, I know my little sister. You really don't remember me?". "No, not at all". "Damn really. Listen we should talk about this. You free tomorrow?". "Yeah, I'm on spring break". "Ok here's my number. Call me as soon as you wake up tomorrow so we can meet and talk". "Sounds good". "Ok, see ya".

He left with whom I'm guessing is his girlfriend. I can't believe I have a brother. What else is there for me to know. I'm not going to tell my mom about meeting him because she might prevent me from going to see him. "Can you believe I have a brother Ken?". "No I can't. And he's cute. How old is he?". "I don't know, I didn't get that far. I'm still stuck on the fact that I have a brother".

It was hard for me to party after meeting him. My mind was still stuck on having a sibling. Of course that didn't stop Kendra. We left around 2a.m. When I got home, I couldn't sleep. I was too anxious for the sun to rise so that I can call my brother. I really wanted to talk to him.

I called him around 9:30a.m. and we met up at ten. We went to this place called Paschal's. It was a restaurant that he said he loved. "I'm so glad we're finally meeting," he said. "Yeah, it's weird". "What is?". "Finding out that I have brother". "Yeah, how come you didn't know anything about me?". "Well I didn't know about pretty much anything".

"I remember when you were ten months old. I was four and mom had told me to go get your pacifier because you were crying a lot. That's when dad knocked on the door and things went south after that". "Well, what happen?". "See that part is blurry to me. I don't remember. All I know is that we got separted after that".

I really wish he remembered what happen. I want to know more about the story and I feel like people are lying to me or not telling the entire story. Maybe I should talk to Officer Watson. "Damn. Well, now we found each other," I said in the most awkward way possible. "Yes! I'm so excited it's been so long since I've seen you. I really missed you. I've actually been searching for you ever since we got separated". "Tell me about yourself".

"Well, I'm twenty-one of course. I've lived here forever. Um, my girlfriend from last night? Yeah, her name is Devyn. She's a model. I got my own house and we live together". "Oh that's nice". "Yeah, what about you? Are you dating?". "Ha, somewhat". "What do you mean?". "I just got out of a relationship with this guy name Deandre. A couple days before I broke up with him, this other guy told me he loved me and wanted to start a relationship".

"So you broke up with the dude for another?". "Not neccessarily. Like, he wasn't paying me much attention anyway. He was mostly focused on basketball and I didn't want to get in the way of that". "I see". We talked more about our lives. And I found out that both of our birthdays are in April. His is the sixth and mine is the twelve. That's crazy.

Soon, Tre was driving by and saw us. He parked, hopped out the car, and headed towards us. "So you see me with Paige and just decide that you're gonna date other people?". "Whoah, Tre you really need to calm down because you don't know what you're talking about". "Who is this," Ryan asked me. "Who am I? Nigga who are you? And why you with my girl?".

This was really embarrassing. Especially for me. Trevor wouldn't let neither one of us get a word out. He continued to yell and scream. "Listen man," Ryan said to Tre. He didn't get to finish because Tre punched him. I got up from the table and pushed Trevor. "What are you doing! Are you crazy?".

I ran to help Ryan up. I'm glad Ryan didn't do anything, because in all honesty, he would have fucked Tre up. "This is my brother you idiot!". "Your brother?". "Yes! Damn Tre. What's wrong with you. When I wanted to talk, you went and got someone pregnant". "No! Paige is pregnant but not by me. Is that what you think?". "What?". "Yeah. It's not by me. She's four months we've been together for two". "Why is her stomach so big?". "The doctor said the baby is growing extremely fast. It'll be here sometime between May and June".

"Why is she at your house?". "Financial reasons. Her parents kicked her out and Deandre said she couldn't stay there. I didn't know what else to do". "I understand but, why didn't you just tell me this when I came to your house?". "We all know how you are. You never give anyone time to explain anything". "You're right. I'm sorry!".

I got up to kiss him. I never listen to anyone, and he was right. "Hello? Still on the ground holding my jaw trying not to hurt this kid here," Ryan said. "Oops, my bad," I said to him. I helped him up and Tre apologized. Everything was good, we talked for a minute, and then Tre took me home. I explained everything to Tre on the way home.

Later that I night, I thought to myself. I thought that, since I never listen to anyone, I should probably go back and visit my father. I called up Officer Watson so he can pull some strings again so that I can go this Friday. When it was time to visit him, I was nervous all over again. I sat in the room around 10:20a.m. with all the other families talking to their loved ones.

He finally came out a little later and was happy to see me. "Hey baby. I'm so glad you're visiting me again". "Yeah, I felt bad just leaving you like that without hearing the whole story". "I understand". "Why did you kill my mother?". "Baby, I don't know if you're ready to hear anything".

"Listen, for seventeen years, going on eighteen, I've been lied to my whole life. I thought the woman who said she's my mother was really my mother. I wasn't ready to hear that. Now that I know, I don't know what to believe or what to do.  But I do know that I wanna know what happened back then. Someone is keeping something from me, I can feel it. Now if you do not keep it honest with me, then I can tell you right now that this will definitely be your last time seeing me".

"You want honesty?". "Yes! That's why I'm here". "Well then...you should know that...I didn't kill your mother"...
