I have nothing to show story-wise so here's some art to make up for it

I promised art (well a lot of things actually lol) for samurai and the snake, and while this isn't the completed stuff (I'll add that after the story is finished) I figured I'd share some of my concepts and rough sketches of how I envisioned our two main characters (& future art to come) !

Here's how I envisioned Jay in his beast mode (lol) when Nya first meets him. His hair is long and wild bc he doesn't care about it lol, and I added a few curls to his dark waves, although his human hair is much curlier ! His design is basically the stretched-out version of how I usually draw Jay (since this form is taller and leaner), plus more shading and serpentine details to indicate scales and stuff. His prominent scales mirror where I usually place his freckles :3

Here he is looking a little more cleaned up & his hair is closer to his human form. Not too sure about the outfit.

Here is our beautiful main girl, Nya! This is from the beginning of the story, where she meets Jay for the first time (this is also where where she's actually starving, so she's looking a little sick here)

She's much happier here, wearing her ballgown and gazing at her sweetheart <3
