*Four Months Later*
"Oh my god Leighton shut the fuck up and call him back already! You've been yacking on about how you can't shake him for months, and how you wished he would call you, and now he literally is in the palm of your hand and you aren't going to call him back? Unbelieveable." My best friend Jae yelled at me while sat gawking at the 3 missed calls I had recieved from Luke last night.
"You don't get it." I said simply looking out the window
"Yeah clearly I don't! Enlighten me!" Jae retorted.
It had been clear to me that Luke's call was nothing but a booty call, but Jae didn't see it.
Damn I would give anything to get inbetween the sheets with him again but part of me craved more.
Ever since that night with Luke and the time we spent "together" I slept around, which is totally against my usual standards, but I could never find someone who supplied the kind of electricity that Luke provided.
There was just something about him.
"Even if he is into me, why did it take him so long to respond?" I stated matter of factly looking through my phone.
Jae didn't know how to respond and kind of just shrugged her shoulders.
We were both kind of at a loss, I just sat there staring out in the distance.
"Whatever just forget it, I have to get ready for work anyway." I said half-hoping Jae would get the clue that I wanted to be left alone about it.
I also did have to get ready for work. I honestly hated my job so much but I had to pay my off my bills and education some way.
My job was similar to that of a waitress, but at fancy banquettes and large parties for example, and tonight was kind of exciting becuase I had heard from a few of my friends that tonights event was being held for a celebrity, though I didn't know who.
Escorting Jae to the door, she parted and I made my way to the shower to clean off before work.
I usually preferred long hot showers but I had to leave in under an hour so I had to cut it short.
Quickly throwing myself together and grabbing a cup of coffee, I left my appartment and headed towards my bus stop.
As I arrived to work, simultaneously throwing my long blonde hair up into a tight bun, I walked into the back room with my stuff to see what all the hype was about.
"OH MY GOD L YOU'RE NEVER GOING TO GUESS WHO IS HERE TONIGHT" one of my best friends, Ronnie screamed in my face.
"Oh god this gonna be good" I said sarcastically, while rolling my eyes and leaning on the counter top.
"So you know the band One Direction right?" Ronnie said, sitting beside me.
"Well I don't live under a rock, Ronnie." I said while buttoning up my long sleeved collared white shirt.
Ronnie playfully shoved my shoulder and grabbed my attention once again before continuing her spiel.
"Okay so apparently their stylist's daughter is turning two and they're all in the city together so they're here tonight, celebrating her birthday." she said.
"So we get to serve a bunch of snobby rich celebrities, cool." I responded, jumping off the counter.
Ronnie had always loved this job becuase she had a low key obsession with most celebrites with a beating heart, but I for one could care less.
"BUT HAVE YOU SEEN ZAYN MALIK?" she spat at me, almost losing the last piece of the apple that lingered in her mouth.
"Isn't he the one that's engaged?" I laughed, clearly more educated on the diluted boy band than I had orignally thought.
"Not for long!" Ronnie responded maniacally.
I just laughed again and grabbed a stack of table cloths, followed by Ronnie who carried a tray of napkin bundles.
We had an hour before the guests arrived and everyone on the floor was running around like crazy, as per usual.
After thoroughly arranging all my table cloths neatly, I returned to the back room to collect more, only to be greeted by my boss Brian.
"Leighton! I'm glad I got your attention!" he said pulling me aside.
"oh jeez" I thought to myself.
"So since its nearly December tonights quests will be wearing coats and have scarves and such and I really need someone to work in the coat room tonight. Are you up for it? I'll pay you an extra 3$ an hour." Brian said cheerfully.
Well if I agreed I would only have to see the snotty celebs for half the night so I figured, why the hell not?
"Yeah sure I wouldn't mind that!" I responded. Plus i'll be able to sit in the room and read a book once everything died down.
After no longer than 20 minutes of organizing the coat room, had I begun to become bombarded with handfuls of celebrity coats.
Each of the women's coats weighing more than the actual woman herself, I began to lose space for stoarge and had to start stacking coats up the stairs.
Some 40 minutes later, I found myself tranquil again realizing that everyone who wished to check their coat had done so and I could finally relax.
Rearranging some coats that had become askew, I heard the slight creak of the door opening and closing.
"I could spot those icy eyes a mile away, I knew it was you babe." a familiar rhaspy voice whispered down my neck, creating chills down my spine.
As I spun myself around, his rosy pink lips began to pepper coffee-scented kisses down my neck.
"Luke" I breathed, running my finges through his hair.
