Jake this is Bailey my little sister.” He smiled. “Hi it’s nice to meet you.” I followed Sara out the door to Bryson’s car. Bryson and Jake sat up front on the way to eat.  We pulled up into Texas Roadhouse’s parking lot and got out. I hung back a little not sure of how Jake would act being on a first date or blind date; but boy was I surprised. I sat on the bench to wait and he walked over and started up a conversation to get to know me. We laughed and talked until the buzzer in Sara’s hand went off. Sara sat next to Bryson on one side and Jake and I sat across from them. I felt a little weird hanging out with twenty-six year olds. Bryson and Sara had a few beers while Jake and I had sweet tea and Dr. Pepper. As Sara and Bryson went to the bathroom some girl walked by and started talking to Jake. “Hey Jake how are you? I’m doing great!” He put his arm on the back of the bench behind me. “Sorry let me introduce you to Tracie; my ex-girlfriend.” The girl looked a little pissed to see him out with me. “Well Jake, you sure do know how to pick them young. Oh Tracie, don’t be jealous that she is more beautiful than you are. Please, she can’t be a day over thirteen.” He then looked at me and smiled, “well if you don’t mind I would like to get back to my date so you have a wonderful meal Tracie.” Some guy walked up behind her and nodded his head at Jake and they walked off. I looked at Jake who was staring at me. “She seemed wonderful. Yeah, well she cheated on me with the dude she was with. I walked into her dorm and caught them in the bed. Wow, she still wants you. How can you tell? Because I am a girl and I can tell when a girl is still into a guy. Well if everything goes okay between us, she will have to get over it.” He tapped my nose after he said that. We talked until the food came then I went to the bathroom. After we ate we sat there deciding if we wanted to go to the movies or to a club. Sara chugged her beer, “I want to go to the club.” I looked at her, “I am not old enough to go to a club.” Bryson looked at me, “So we are going to the movies but what movie do we want to see? We will decide when we get there.” We got up and walked out. Bryson gave Jake the keys and climbed in the back seat. Jake put his arm around my neck and whispered, “You can sit up front with me so you don’t have to be in the middle of that!” I turned to see them swapping tongue. I smiled, “I will take that offer.” He opened the door for me and closed it behind me. We got to the theater and Bryson and Sara went their own way.

Jake put his arm around my shoulder, “so what movie would you like to watch? What kind of movies do you like?” He smiled, “I like romance, comedy and horror.” I looked around at the movies. I took into consideration that I really liked Jake so far from what I had already seen. So if I chose romance we would be holding hands and kissing, if I chose a scary movie he would hold me through the rest of the movie and I wasn’t really sure what a comedy movie would cause. So I looked at him, “You pick one.” He walked up to the counter and came back with two tickets to a movie I didn’t see advertised. We sat in the back row. All throughout the movie, he had opportunities to hold my hand, or kiss me or anything to show me that he was interested; but he didn’t. I was confused, was I not his type, too young for him or was he trying to be a gentleman. I was hoping for the last choice. When the movie was over he put his hands on my hips and led me through the crowd from behind me. I could feel him pressed up against me; but I have to admit I liked it. Sara and Bryson were still in their movie when we made it to the concession stand area. I walked outside to gather my thoughts; he followed me. I walked towards the end of the building and before I knew what happened, Jake grabbed me and pulled me behind the building; pushed me against the brick wall and gently kissed me. As he backed away from me I couldn’t talk.

I grabbed his coat and pulled him into me. He put one hand on the wall and the other around my waist. His lips were plump, soft and felt great against mine. He slowly pushed his tongue in my mouth massaging mine with his. When he stepped back I shivered. “Are you cold? No…I have never done that before. What kissed someone behind the movie theater?” He walked towards me again and leaned back in to kiss me. A few minutes later he stepped back again because he heard Bryson and Sara coming. I brushed my hair down and tugged at my dress. We walked to Bryson’s car together and Jake got in the driver’s seat. When I get nervous I always tend to play air guitar, so that’s what I was doing. Jake looked over at me, “What are you counting? Nothing, I am playing guitar. You know how to play guitar? I sure do, my friend Jay and I are a duet. We are always playing and singing together.” Jake seemed to get a little worried so I quickly added, “I always have to save him from his girlfriend by writing her songs.” Bryson and Sara stopped kissing, “Shoot, you give this girl a guitar and listen to her pick and sing. I’m not that good. Bailey, don’t be like that, you are amazing. Thanks Bryson but I think you feel you have to say that. Well I don’t. When have you heard me pick and sing Sara? Every time we are at your house and y’all are in your room practicing.” We pulled up to Sara’s house for a little while. Jake and I stayed in the car until Bryson came back. We got to going down the road and Bryson started talking to Jake, “so what exactly do you do again. I am a salesman. Cool.” When we finally got home I kissed Jake on the cheek and went to my room.
