The roads of Germany twisted and turned exciting the small 5 year old sitting in the backseat. She swung side to side in tune with the curves laughing quietly as her father would most likely shout. Sierra was also excited for the adventure of meeting her grandparents for the very first time. The reasoning quite romantic for her parents , they had eloped once her mother found out she was pregnant. Although they did not go far just to the opposite side of Germany, they learnt how to live on their own. Sierra's smile grew and her father's shrunk as music had started playing from the radio. Once we had finally reach the famous cottage the 3 singing voices came to a stop. The autumn leaves had started to fall a couple days ago and Sierra still could not believe the beauty. As she moves past the trees her pace quickens in the direction of the house. She knocked on the door while her parents followed rolling the luggage. The door opened and Sierra was greeted with a man dressed in a loose blouse and dark blue jeans, who was in her early 20s,
"Oh Sierra ! It's so nice to finally meet you"
The man exclaimed bopping down to Sierras height and giving her a hug.
My father coughs in aim to get the man's attention in which he succeeds. The man stood up and smiled sacredly, you could even see the fear in his eyes. In silence we all walk inside to find Sierra's grandparents sitting in the lounge together watching a baking show.Once the clock had struck 7, Sierra's mother had called everyone to the dining table and so we went. Her mother's food had always tasted the best. She served plates of a delicious spaghetti which is a favourite of Sierra's and we ate in silence until her father spoke up.
"So..Leo, have you managed to get a job? You can't live here forever, you're an adult"
"I do have a job! And please you know it's Lilly now"
The man replies mumbling the second half. Everyone looked uncomfortable with the topic but Sierra was just confused.
"Lilly?"
Sierra speaks up and the family's and Lilly's attention drift towards her,
"Why do you have a girls name ?"
"Because I am one, you know what else I am? You're sister"
Lilly says glaring at Sierra's father and then fondly at her. I guess you could say she was shocked, she had zero clue about having a sister.. she didn't know what to say. Lilly nearly erupts with tears because of memories of years ago,
"I guess father and mother never told you, I guess they're too ashamed of me!"
And with that Lilly had stormed upstairs and Sierra had followed._______________
