Impressing the family

So shawn was nervous. Really nervous actually. You see, it was the first time meeting my family. Not just my parents this time but my aunties, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and the other family members that I didn't exactly know.

We showed up at my aunties house and shawn had brought his guitar with him as I had asked, although he was still insisting on not playing anything.

"But you'll be fine and you won't have to even say anything and you will impress them!" I begged.

"No, I'm just nervous! What if I screw up?!" He replied biting his lip. I tried to ignore the attractiveness of his action.

"You can do it! You're shawn mendes!"

"Seriously? You are seriously using gilinsky's words to persuade me?" He asked, raising his eyebrows and smirking.

" Well it's true! Man up dude!"

"Fine!"

I smiled and hugged him tight.

We walked inside and I introduced shawn to everybody. After noticing his guitar, many family members were asking him to perform so we set him up a performing place and let him get ready. After a while he was set to go and I could see how nervous he was. I gave him a thumbs up and he simply raised his eyebrows at me. I put my hand down and laughed. He began to play and I recognised the song as "the weight". I smiled knowing how well he sung this song and how emotional he could get playing it. Everybody was silent waiting for his voice.

As soon as the first word escaped his mouth, all of my family relaxed and I stood there looking at the admiration on all of their faces. Shawn had won them over and he wasn't even at the chorus. Shawn calmed down too noticing the behaviour of everybody around him and I saw him start to get into the song.

I walked over to my cousin and said,"he's a liar by the way."

"What do you mean?"

"Well he can obviously lift the weight with those muscles!"

We laughed together and stood there as he sang his heart out.
