"I want you to be happier." He says, blue eyes staring directly into my hazel. I smile a shy smile briefly looking down before staring back into the perfect eyes. "Even though I might not like this."

I hold back an even bigger smile as his hands reach for mine across the small table at the diner we are all at. Bonita, Caden, Bennett, Mia, Kyro, and little me. We sit around our usual spot where Beni holds my hand across the table. "Funny how the stars crossed right, 'cause we work so well and we don't even know why." I respond smirking at him holding down the bubbles of giggles warming the table.

Beni drops his head, little giggles erupting him before taking his almost neutral expression towards my usual smile. "Loving you was young, and wild, and free." I roll my lips back into my mouth as Mia wipes the tears forming from under her eyes.

"We are still kids, but we're in love." I shake my head as he raises an eyebrow asking if I'm ready to give up. Not just yet, Beni.

"Oh I never knew you were the someone waiting for me."

My fingers rips out of his hold, standing up I point at him jumping up and down. "That's from the same song I just did. PERFECT WAY TO WIN THIS!"

He rolls his eyes leaning back into his sofa. He rubs a hand over his face as I jump up and down like a little kid on christmas morning. "Calm yourself, Frey, you're causing a scene." Caden says laughing at my reaction taking a sip out of his diet coke. "And are you honestly surprise? You always win at this stupid game."

"You're only calling it stupid cause you can never win a round with anyone." Mia pipes out fiddling with the straw of her strawberry milkshake. "Now we can finally all agree to Freya being the best at making fake conversations with song lyrics."

"Okay okay, I admit defeat to the idiot." Bennett surrenders making me slap his arm at the mention of idiot. "On to more important topics, has anyone heard of the new kid?"

"You call that more important topics?" Bonita asks finally looking up from texting someone on her phone. She rolls her green eyes at her friend, locking her phone, placing it next to her coffee.

"Well, have you seen the new guy? His hair is just goals." Mia sighs out putting her own blonde hair into a ponytail. "Plus we have matching hair, I'm pretty sure it's a sign. He's only three years older." I whip out my phone when it vibrates revealing a message from my mom. I answer quickly when the bell chimes at the front of the diner.

My five friends and I whip our heads to the door to see him walk in. "Speak of the devil." Caden comments looking back to his burger that's already halfway eaten.

"More like speak of the angel." Bonita replies nodding to herself taking his appearance in. His blonde hair was swooped up but a few strands cover his forehead. His one of a kind greenish blue eyes sweep the place while stuffing his hands in his jeans pockets. His eyes meet mine across the diner.

He carries himself towards our table never breaking eye contact. "Hey, I've seen you around school. You're Freya right?" He asks standing next to me. I nod my head smiling at him. "Cool, I'm Mario."

"Nice. Um, this is Mia, Caden, Bennett, Bonita, and Kyro." I introduce with hellos pitching through the table. Bon winks at me taking a sip out of her coffee. "So, where were you before this?"

"Well, I lived here all my life but I use to go to Hinder High. Then, my mom was like nope you're moving to this weird school for senior year." I chuckle at the weird school when his eyes widen at what he just said. "But I don't actually mean it's a weird school I mean you're cool, you all are. Sorry."

We all laugh at his pale expression turn a bright pink making me laugh even harder. "Mario, we know our school is weird. We've been going here like our whole lives. Well, most of us." Bonita mentions mixing her coffee.
