"Seriously though, how do you know everyone if you lived in England all of your life?" Ian asks standing next to me.
"I-I met Nattie a couple months ago when I came here." Rafael asks still staring at Nat in astonishment. I admire the look he give her envious of no one giving me the same look. I then remember the reason Nat came in the first place. Mario is still here.
Mario looks between the two a slight frown being formed on his face. "Raf, you told me that you were going back to Manchester." Nat holds her white coat tighter and closer to her body.
"Manchester is a city in the U.K." I whisper to Ian who looks genuinely lost.
His blue eyes flicker to my hazel for a split second before whispering loudly in my ear a response. "I know that, Frey, I was just wondering when we got dragged into a soap opera." I let out a giggle having Mario to glance at us then have a one sided staredown with Rafael as Rafael stares back at Nat.
"You know why I told you that." Rafael says his blue eyes staring still at astonishment at Nat. She shakes her head hugging her coat closer to her body. He sighs closing his eyes for a brief moment.
"Guys, what is in the past is in the past. Let bygones be bygones, please?" Elijah says getting between the two. Nattie looks at her heeled boots before nodding her head. Rafael soon follows. "Anyways. M, you got to get to the meet and greet soon. Frey and Ian go join him. The rest of us will be here where I shall give a tour."
"Go manager Eli!" I yell out easing out all the tension. Ian, Mario, and I make our way to the meet and greet place. Ian and I took a seat where Mario stands swinging his arms back and forth. "Rafael really does know everyone in the Big Apple."
They both let out a laugh making me smile once more. "I wonder what's up with him and that girl uh Nattie?" Ian says raising an eyebrow.
I nod my head pulling out my phone to see my mom text me. I respond quickly to see Nat stick her head in. "Hey Nat!"
She waves slowly walking in her heels clanking the silent room. "Um, hey. I just want to apologize for having a whole soap opera scene unfold in front of your eyes. I-I just don't know how to react to someone who lied to me." She says taking a seat next to me.
I give a sad smile wrapping my arm around her shoulder having her head rest on my shoulder. I make eye contact with Mario trying to tell him to make a move and say something but obviously he didn't understand until I almost slap my forehead. "How did Rafael lie to you exactly?" Mario asks.
It took every bit of will power in me to not slap his face into oblivion.
She sighs lying down in my lap instead. "Raf and I liked each other. We confessed to each other in eighth grade. Four fucking years ago then, he told me he was moving to Manchester. When he was here in eighth grade, he was going to my school because he wanted to see which school to go to, the one here with his dad or go back to Manchester to live with his mom again. He told me he was going back there but here he is in. Home of the Empire State Building."
"Wow." Ian comments sitting down next to Mario. I laugh as women knocks before coming inside.
"Hi sweetie!" She says her green eyes staring down at Mario. Her eyes flicker to Nat smiling with a shine in them. "You must be Freya. He's been talking nonstop about you dear." Nat sits upright shaking her head. The woman looks at me smiling. "You must be Freya then."
I stand up shaking her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Myers." I greet. She smiles her most perfect smile before giving me a quick hug.
"Please darling, call me Jos." Her green eyes flicker to the other pair of green eyes. Her small smile turns huge wrapping her arms around her son. "Ah, I feel like it's been forever, sweetie!" Mario's face gets squished between her arms as he rolls his perfect green eyes.
