I wait on the coach with my brother and sister until my parents come home. I held my phone tight. It's been ten minutes since my parents haven't come home. Its not a long time but i'm still worried.
Suddenly I hear a banging on the door. Then gunshots in the distance.
My brother and sister are suddenly quiet. I quickly motion them to stay quiet and we all grab eachother and go down to the basement in the back staircase. I go into the metal underground closet my dad built us and we all hide under the main stairs in the closet quietly.
My dad drilled us into this procedure in case something happens. He also built our house in a certain way after the war started, so that the bricks had steel that would reject bullets and bombs like a vest. My dad used to be an engineer and architect builder before the war started. Then basically, all families stayed home and got free money. My mom used to be a detective but she stopped her job because of the war too.
Suddenly the banging got louder. My siblings and I didn't dare move. Basically, we ended up staying in the underground closet for an hour. After an hour, my mom texted me asking us where we were. She never texts, so I thought it was funny in an ironic way. I suddenly became aware that something must be very wrong. My mom and dad must've been shot or captured by the vampires. That thought made me sad but I didn't let it get to me. One day it was bound to happen. That's the only way my moms phone must be in someone else's hand, and that person or vampire must be texting me. Too bad they didn't know I was smarter then that.
I didn't dare move for the rest of the day and neither did my siblings. Eventually we heard sirens and people come into the house that night. My siblings and I still didn't move.
We heard distant voices.
"They had a daughter. No two and a son."
"They've been captured."
"Children are nowhere to be seen."
"House looks like it's been abandoned since this morning."
"Good thing the children are gone otherwise they would've been caught!"
"Vampires are gone from the area for now."
"Currently vampires have a plane in south Africa."
"Probably wont be coming back for a human for two years."
"Yup Cindy here, hope for the children. Back at you."
"News 101 coming right back at you."
Through distant voices, my brother, sister and I get the story. The vampires basically caught our parents. Eventually, the front door slams closed. Me and my siblings sleep in the underground closet for a night. I decide we won't leave the closet until tomorrow morning.
