I lay alone. Nothing to do, nowhere to go. My mind is running wild, thinking about every little detail of the day that just passed. My long, strawberry blonde hair is fanned out on my purple pillow as I toss and turn, trying everything I can think of to fall asleep. Counting sheep, trying different breathing patterns, nothing seems to work. My 5 year old little brother is in the next room, still up watching pokemon even though it's already midnight. I can hear it through the walls and it's driving me somewhat insane. I close my eyes, giving one last attempt to fall asleep and right as I'm about to drift off all I hear is "PIKACHU, I CHOOSE YOU!" Super loud. Sota must've accidentally turned the volume up again. I sigh and sit up, sliding into my house slippers before walking out of my room and into his. I quickly realize that he's not even awake, but snoring adorably on his bed, and had just rolled onto the remote. I'm surprised it didn't wake him up. I turn off the TV and go back into my room. Realizing that I'm probably not going to get to sleep, I flip on the light switch, sit down at my desk and open my laptop.
