Alexander slowly opened the door to he and his wife's bedroom. Eliza sat at a desk, clutching a paper he assumed to be The Renolyds Pamphlet. She didn't even turn around as she acknowledged her husband's presence. She sighed. "Alexander...Hamilton. I never thought..you would..would do something like this." She held out the pamphlet.

"You..you lied to me. You said your love for me was never in doubt..what a fool I was to believe such a thing. To think....that you . . ." She turned to him, studying his expression. Guilty, tired, stressed, eyes of regret, seeming to be pleading for forgiveness. "...Ever loved me at all."

Alexander was taken aback by her words, he did love Eliza. He never stopped loving her. She meant everything to him...but he knew that he couldn't say anything now.

"You brought her, into this bed. Our bed!" "Several times...more than you can even count I bet." She turned away, staying silent for a second, before arising from her seat and walking towards Alexander. "You told me you loved me. I thought that meant something! I thought it meant that...that you were there for me, you liked who I am, you enjoyed having and creating a family with me. You liked me. I was yours, and you were mine. But I should've know better than to think such a thing."

"...I know how you work. You work yourself down until your vulnerable enough to succumb to things like this. Something told me to come home. Something told me not to let you stay. Because somewhere, deep inside, I knew..that you would make a mistake."

"When I look at you...I don't see the optimistic, determined, kind, protective, young man I met at the Winter's ball. I see nothing. Nothing..but a cheater. A cheater at love, a cheater at my heart. This game called marriage..doesn't have any other pathways. It only has one. And you made your way out of it. And now you crawl back..."

"You crawl back and try to win my heart AFTER you took any and every risk KNOWING that it would get broken! KNOWING that it would hurt me! Hurt us! Hurt our kids, hurt you. But you're so blinded..blinded by your..your stupid legacy!"

Some tears threatened to fall from Alexander's eyes. Everything she said was true...but he never, never stopped loving Eliza. He didn't love Maria...he loved Eliza. He knew his actions were inexcusable...but he wanted Eliza back. He knew things wouldn't be exactly the same..but he knew that it could be decent. He could prove to Eliza that he did love her. That he never meant to hurt her. He decided to try to talk to her.

"Eliza-"

Eliza's hand smacked against Alexander's face in an instant, hard. The sound resonating throughout the room.

She looked up at Alexander, and Alexander looked back down at her. Eliza's expression was angry, with a bit of hurt. Alexander's...Alexander was stunned. He had never seen Eliza hurt anyone physically. He had never seen Eliza so angry, that she would have to get physical. He had never seen Eliza..so, so, so angry towards him. But he wasn't going to deny it..

He deserved every bit of her wrath.

"Stop it. You don't get a say in this. You've already said ENOUGH with this!" She shoved The Renolyds Pamphlet into his hands. "Don't. Think you can make your way into my arms. Into my heart. Into my mind. You're not convincing me with any cheap poetry you have to say. You've destroyed any respect I've ever had for you. You...you.."

She closed her eyes, she had never yelled so much before. And she never had to come to what she had to say. Not ever to Alexander, or to anyone. No one had ever hurt her like this before. She looked at Alexander, who's eyes were pained.

"..You.." She sighed, shutting her eyes once more. "Stay away from me. And don't worry about the children. They already know."

She pushed past Alexander, who looked back at her as she stormed off. He blinked away the tears that had threatened to fall any longer. Quietly uttering one phrase, to who was supposed to be Eliza, but as she wasn't listening, and he was alone, it was now to seemingly know one.

"I'm sorry..."
