The letter S

Chapter 1-The start

As soon as I walk in with Felicity (my dog) I am greeted by what I usually am a cup to pee into and a breathalyzer to blow into. My step mother Anne Looked straight at my as I picked up the cup and walked into the bathroom on the second floor. This house is nice as much as I hate staying here it is a nice house, four bedrooms, five if you count the basement where I stay. There are three bathrooms. It's nicely decorated everywhere there are family pictures, none of them with me in it. I came out of the bathroom to see Sadie sitting at the kitchen table. I handed my cup to Anne as I usually do. I sit down next to Sadie who is my step sister, she is 6.

"Hey Sadie"

"Hi sissy" She said still staring down at her homework.

I got up and headed down the stairs.

"Eleanor" Anne practically screamed

"I told you, don't call me that Analise" I said going back up to the top of the stairs.

"Don't tell me what I can and can't do in my house" She said reading over the results of the tests I gave her.

"Not your house, It's David's. Now can I go?" Sitting at the top of the stairs made me nervous but if I pushed Anne too hard she would tell my father a whole list of lies.

"Don't be disrespectful, you passed today but remember I will test you every day, and don't forget about the random room searches." She said waving to dismiss me.

"yeah like I have anything that is my own" I said going down. I heard my brother Ben come home and Anne Greet him so politely. He came drudging down the stairs and instead of going into the garage he comes in to my room, without knocking. Luckily I'm just doing my homework, then I noticed he wasn't alone.

"Hey Elle, can you help Flynn?" He said practically pushing his friend who practically lives here towards me.

"Help Flynn what?" I said still doing my homework.

"He needs help with math" He said forcing his friend to sit down.

"And why should I help him?" I was now confused. Ben and I were close, and Flynn often hung out here for dinner I think I even saw him in the guest room a couple of times.

"because you love meeee, plus if he doesn't pass this class, he won't graduate and he is already one grade behind." he was squirming the entire time he was talking.

"He only has one semester to get his grade up dude, and when did he switch to my grade"

"Since 6thgrade when I had some stuff happen." Flynn said he looked ashamed. He doesn't seem the type to fail a grade. He seems like he would be the quarterback and get straight a's.

"Rightttt-no" I said looking back down.

"Listen Ellie please I know that I'm in college and I could've helped him but right now I have to get to work and I am bad at math please" I looked from him to Flynn after a long pause I said

"Fine" I said

"Yesss ok I have to go, thank you ellie" Ben said kissing the top of my head and quickly leaving.

I spent an hour and a half helping Flynn with his algebra.

"Thank you Elle" Flynn said closing his notebook.

"Flynn I've known you for long, don't worry about it" I said emotionless as usual.

"why did you come back after all this time?" he questioned.

"It's only been 6 years, and I was in and out a little in the beginning"

"Yeah but why now?" he looked at me
