Jungkook was gone fifteen minutes ago as he went to buy some groceries that Jin had asked him to.

Namjoon was helping Jimin with his homeschool work.

"So, next problem! If I have 27 candies and I eat 15-"

"Appa" Jimin suddenly interrupts. He was so bored and a question was making him nervous.

"Yes, honey?"

"Wh-what is 'love'" he looked at his father with doe questioning eyes.

"Well" Joon smiled, "It's when you want to live your life for a certain person, hug her, and protect her" Jimin nodded.

Jimin had said that to Jungkook more than once, and at first he had freaked out, but then he accepted it and started saying it too.

Jimin didn't really know what love is, he heard Joon calling Jin "the love of his life" but although he didn't know, he wanted to call Jungkook that way.

"Why are you asking?" his father's voice caught his attention again.

"It j-just came t-to my min-mind"

They just kept doing Jimin's math homework, the younger not really concentrated.

If he cared for him, wanted to protect him and hug him, does that mean he loves Jungkook?

...

Jungkook felt defenseless.

He was lying on the floor curled up into a ball as some random kids of the orphanage were kicking his stomach.

Although he was used to this, it still hurted.

"You bitch" one of them said as he gave Jungkook a black eye. "Nobody is gonna adopt you because you're gay, that's disgusting."

But what hurted more was the words, being gay was something he always thought was wrong, until he became gay himself.

"Your mom probably abandoned you because she was a slut, i bet she doesn't even know who your fucking father is, probably a 75 year old man"

That was the thing they most repeated, because, although it sounded stupid, he loved his mom so much, and had always wanted to meet her.

"Young boy" his attention was caught, he was daydreaming about a memory again.

"Sorry, how much is it?" he asked embarrassed.

"24 dollars (i don't know how much things cost in korea, so i'm just gonna use dollars, alright?)"

"Yeah" he said as he handed the cashier the money.

He grabbed his bag of groceries and headed home.

Something he was grateful for was being adopted.

Mostly, because they were 2 men. He learned that gays weren't disgusting as they had always taught him, they were normal people who fought for living in a world which would let them love freely.

He didn't hate himself anymore, and that was something he was thankful for.
