"As an inhabitant of this country, I demand to see the queen!!" one yelled. "She's in there!" another yelled. "Let her come out to prove she's alive!!!" the leader of the group shouted on the top of her lungs, leaving the rest of the crowd silent for a while. It was only a matter of seconds before they all started shouting again, banging on the doors of the castle that was known as the queen's home.

"My lady, I'm afraid they want to see you now...they haven't seen you in months now.." "Do not disturb me!*the queen hissed, not turning away from the blue tinted mirror she had before her against the wall. The mirror she couldn't help looking at. It was mesmerising to see her ice blue eyes, her golden, wavy locks and freckles work together so beautifully to create an angel like herself.

Each and every day she sat down before the mirror, staring at her own reflection without a break, not having said a word up until that very moment. Food and water had been easily rejected by her as she refused to look away.

"The inhabitants are worried about you my highness" "Then tell them that my presence will be back soon. They can't yet admire me.* She said so with a cocky tone to her voice, exuding greater confidence.

Days later, the queen came after what she had promised the inhabitants of her paradise. She would appear.

She put on a white gown with lace sleeves and several layers over it with a floral pattern shown in said layers as she proudly paraded through the room to look in her mirror.

Her makeup, she thought was beautifully done, her rings and hair looked amazing.

And so, she went outside to greet the residents of the paradise she'd given, who all had waited for her presence for so long.

Upon taking the first step onto the balcony, the crowd made it all disgraceful, yelling a thousand and one things at the woman.

She took a step back into her safe zone, listening closely to each and every insult and offense hearable.

She didn't look pretty to them. She looked disgusting to them.
She didn't exude beauty like she used to to them.
She had an unhealthy look over her.
Her bones stuck out, her skin was broken and cracked.
Her hair broken and dry.

Mirror blue had betrayed her.
It told her she was beautiful.
It showed an image of her that she wanted to see.
That she was so obsessed with having.
The hate for the mirror had soon turned into the need to get rid of it.
And so she did.

No more lies.
No more, impossible to get to, standards that were set for her.
She felt happy.

Nearly another year had passed without a trace of the queen.

And there she was again, looking great and healthy, this time exuding utter happiness and beauty. The golden locks she had shone brightly as her ice blue eyes had the bright spark in them like they used to.

She was happy.
