The Beginning

Time passed. Minutes turned into hours, hours became days which became months. During this time, he put together his armor. Each piece of scrap, being treated more precious than the last. As he worked, his skill became more refined, his craftsmanship becoming more impressive as he built his new uniform as a protector. Days and nights were spent with blood, sweat and effort exerted until finally, finally as the sun rose, his armor was complete.

It shined brilliantly in the light of the radiant morning sun. He was one step closer in his quest. Thankfully, his charge was safe, staying home more often than not these past couple of months. It seemed to be be autumn, as the leaves had begun falling from the tree that was his home. Now was as good of a time as any to begin storing food and adding the final touched to his knightly appearance. After all, a plain, bland suit of armor just would not do! His savior deserved better!

And so, he began gathering the crisp, color altered leaves from the endless piles on the ground as well as a few coins of loose change from his scrap pile. He placed a red leaf, then a quarter on the chest plate of his armor, eagle side up, using gum he had found prior to glue each item to his armor. The eagle was his coat of arms and the red was to add a distinguishing color to his pure silver colored outfit. Using a similar method, he created shields of varying sizes, with an additional layer of bark to make them more authentic, being wood and all. Our hero, the soon to be knight now required on final item. One, must have piece equipment that all knights must carry. His final quest to become a knight for his savior, his final task, was to gather a sword, worthy of him, worthy of his charge and worthy of all the knights who came before him
