My New Life Is a Fantasy

Chapter 2

"Could it be...?"

What a familiar word.. but, I don't even remember anything..
Who is it..?
I turn my head and seeing all over around it, but there's nothing. I'm confused. So I try to ask it again.

"What do you mean I should probably check the shore? Do you know who I am?"

I'm hoping for an answer, but instead, a water current started to become a whirlpool . I started swimming fast to avoid the whirlpool.

But then, the whirlpool stopped. It's really strange. And without any doubt, I turn around, and another creature was swimming towards me.

Then it ask me.
"Why did you swim away from me? Aren't you the one who ask if I know you?"

I was surprised. And can't say anything. He had fins like a fish..

"My name is Vann, my apologies to started the whirlpool, and as you can see, I am not a fish." He said.

Did he just read my mind?!
"OH! Yeah!! But, uh.. what are you..?"

He had fins around his hands, and a mermaid tail but covered with thin layers of fins.
"I am called the Charybdis, I'm the one who control the whirlpool now."
He said it with proud.

"What do you mean by now?" I ask him.

Then he started to explain his history. His mother, named Charybdis by her parents, Poseidon and Gaia. Some unknown things happend, and his mother was banished from the kingdom.

"When my mother become old, she did gave a new life to me, as the new charybdis." He said.

"So you've never met your mother?" I ask him.

"She did explained a few things to me, before she disappeared, and back to your question, you ask if I know you right?" He ask.

"Yeah.." I said it with a nervous expressions. I'm really worried about his answer.

"Just like I said about Poseidon and Gaia, as a mermaid like you, there are some connected things between it."
"And, I saw you before, you're the human who always come to the sea every night."

I'm surprised and confused. I'm a human? What does that mean?

"So I'm not a mermaid?" I ask him.

"Probably, that's why you should check the shore, maybe you'll find something." He answered.

"But I don't know which way is the shore.."

Then he answered me, "I'll guide you, come on, then he started swimming, so I followed him.

But I felt something strange, the water current getting stronger than before, and then I ask him, "Is this the right way?"

"Hmm? Of course!" He answered.

But it's getting darker and colder so I said something to him.
"But I don't think this is the right way, there are no fishes in here."

Then he stopped swimming. And then he said something.
"Oh~ really? Then do you know why did I bring you here?"

"No..?" I answered him with confusion.

Then he answered
"Well it's because..."

...

"I'M GOING TO EAT YOU!"
