The lights of the car were still on, my heart sang in relief when i saw him standing there against his car, at the junction to the highway, he did wait just as i prayed he would. I looked around as i had been doing for almost two hours, the team in charge of keeping an eye on him had finally left, at least it seemed like it. Slowly i climbed down the climbing tress and searching for the car’s lights.
Once down i aimed towards the car as quickly as i could, my eyes still on the search but my body moving forth.
“you took your time.”
His voice startled me, bringing me to a halt. My eyes where else where i didn’t realise he was standing right infront of me.
“you were been followed.” I dully answered as i stood straight. He was close, way too close i could feel the warmth of his breath hitting my cold face. He looked like he didn’t care at all, his hands folded across his chest and his eyes lowered to my face. I finally met his gaze. For a second, i held it, hoping he would be the one to break but he didn’t. He was furious, i could see the anger in his eyes. He waited too long and even if i had good reason to delay my entrance he has every right to feel the way he didn’t.
“we need to go.” I said, my eyes straying to the car but he didn’t move as i hoped he could. I could feel his eyes searching my face, like he deserved an explanation. For the first time, i felt someone’s stare made me uncomfortable. I was one who intimidated everyone just by one look, even Enoch couldn’t stand my eyes, once he even swore to gaurge them out. But its not like they were even mine to begin with.
“if we don’t leave now we...”
“stay in the back.” He interrupted me. “we cant have anybody seen you.”
We? What were we now, a team? I questioned as i watched him make his way round the car to the driver’s seat.
As soon as he reached the door i jumped into the front passengers seat and straped the belt across my chest.
“i told you...”
“i don’t take orders from anyone.” I interrupted him, sounding a little upset. I was upset because for a second i had considered doing just what he said, because his gaze made me uncomfortable, because i allowed him into talking me to carry him with me, because i entrusted him with my own safety but mostly because i was allowing myself to trust him, to stick with him.
Without a word he got into the car and within seconds we were crusing in the highway.

“imbasiles!” Enoch screamed. “you are all a bunch of useless idiots! If he didn’t leave the junction its because he was waiting for something, someboby, maybe even her.”
“but nothing looked out of the ordinary sir.” Ali told told. Ali had been in the agency for only four months. Twenty five in age yet every hard working. He saw to it that he was always in Enoch’s good books, always. “if he indeed waiting for someone it was definitely not her.”
Enoch sank back in his seat and stayed silent as if to think. Of course he was, his index finger tapped his office desk like he did every time he made a decision. Finally he rose to his feet.
“ lets pay that cottage a visit again. Ibrahim,” he called to the I.T guy who worked from desk four. “i want information about that Korean. Name, age, height, everything. I need detail. Even the colour of his favourite underwear. Every tiny detail, don’t miss a thing.”

I had been looking out through the window for the past four hours, without a word from either of us. I didn’t speck much, even if the Korean tried to conversate he knew i wouldn’t give him answers. Finally i could see the south of doha, finally my being was out mesaieed. I didn’t even realise when i  passed Al-Wakrah but that mattered laess, all i knew is that i was heading to the head quaters, to safety. Maybe here, someone will be able to help me over power Enoch and protect whatever it was my parents were protecting.
“the airport is down D Ring road, am sure you know that much.” And said before i unbuckled my belt and my eyes surveyed the back seat for the shopping back i had packed earlier. There , i said in the back of my mind as my hands already reached for it. “ you can leave me over there.” I said, pointing the French cultural centre that was right ahead of us.
“i told you i cant leave Qatar yet.” He said, still driving on with no attempts to stop at all.
“this is as far to safety as i can take you. Get the next plane to korea. Whatever you need in Qatar , can be found later. Right now you need to be as far from me as possible.”
“what guarantee do you have that am safe here?” he asked.
That had me thinking, i wasn’t sure any of us where safe, or will be, i could only know that once am at head quarters and someone is looking into my case.
“because the people who will protect me are here in Doha. This is the capital, they are above Enoch, they can’t kill you unless the order is from the chief, here in Doha.” I tried to explain.
He stayed quiet a moment, we where already past the French culture centre and right at the next turn was were i was headed, right next to the Qatar scientific club.
He finally stopped the car at the lay by next to the road about that parted our paths, atleast it was suppose to. I was going right and him left. This was going to be it, the end of my story with the Korean. A chance to think for myself which i haven’t been able to do in hours was right before me.
My eyes met his, he didn’t speck just again he intimidated the life out of me with his gaze. What was he made of for Qatar’s sake? It was like one second i was comfortable with him and the other he made me feel uncertain about everything. Especially when i knew he was watching me like i was under a microscope.
“my phone.” I blurted out.
“how sure are you these people will not side with Enoch? What if they choose to help him and not you? What will you do then?”
