Hoseok stood in the street across the restaurant where the said woman was working at, he waited patiently as people crossed him, his face now sullen, no smile adorning it, his aura dull as he rested, blending in with the beholders.

The sun started setting leaving hues of pink and orange in the dimming skies. He looked down at his old leather watch, 6:45, it read.

Placing his hands in his pockets, his head kept turning sideways in search of a game to waste his time onto instead of the curiosity that was eating up his mind about the girl, the bold waitress at the restaurant.

It was not his first time meeting up with one, he has seen many and went out with many but this one was different somehow and he couldn't pinpoint why, which watered his inquisitiveness even more.

Hoseok looked at his feet before averting his gaze to the restaurant doors ahead of him once more. He took a deep breath, silently praying,

May you be the one.

Hoseok sounded desperate for many but no, he really believed in soulmates and true love, he believed it was something to be earned, nothing in this world came easily, so why would love, the importance of his entire being, be effortlessly gained?

He worked hard, despite the way he used that none of his friends seemed to agree with but nonetheless understood him or tried to and he was more grateful for that. He didn't want her, the one, to slip out of his hands, ever and trying for all girls he came across seemed logical, he knew one day, he'd find her.

The tall man awaited her, an hour passed then another then another, it was dark, the lit streets were emptying, and the wind was picking up its pace but he waited watching people move in and out the big doors he stood ahead of.

It was 11:30 p.m. when the lights in the restaurant went out declaring the departure of the staff, none of which the waitress, Hoseok gasped not in shock but he was worn out. He assumed she had gone home, maybe she thought he was a joke or maybe she was a scam.

He decided to go back home walking for the last bus was an hour ago, however, he did not regret standing there, tired in the cold.

It will all be worth it, some day.

He told himself as bitterness loaded his eyes,

Maybe it wasn't her.

A shiver ran down his spine at the gust of wind hitting him, his soles started slamming the ground, walking away.

"Oh my God! Have you been standing here all this time?" A tender voice called.

Hoseok turned around, surprised to see the lady with the black dress layered by a matching shawl draped over her shoulders.

"I am so sorry, my shift replacement didn't show up today," she continued, "I had no idea you would wait all this while."

Sincerity filled her black eyes and her face held a look of guilt. The pitying rue he saw in her eyes when she looked at his thin shirt he'd been in since the morning made his once dull face break into a sheepish smile, he laughed out loud.

"Sorry, I just thought you left," he said looking into her eyes that he began to love.

"You thought I'd dump you after giving you an appointment?" She asked, her eyes widening in wonder at what he'd thought of her.

"Well, I was much of a flirt, wasn't I?" He giggled, "Not all girls are as nice."

She looked once more at his sleeveless shirt, "Aren't you cold?"

"You're too hot, I can't feel the wind," he replied with a smirk on his face.

"Too bad I was gonna share my shawl with you," she lowered the clothe off her shoulders and put it back on again.

"Can I take that back?" He said hastily, "I mean you're still hot but I don't mind sharing."

"Come here," she smiled straightening out her black embroidered shawl then wrapping it around both of them.

Warmth instantly filled Hoseok, not only was the shawl the reason but her kind heart and graceful smile. He smiled again, thinking of how a gleam of hope shone through his windows.

They both walked through the deserted streets, connected by the thin material, they filled their lungs with the cold breeze of the night and laughed out into the gentle wind overflowing it with jokes, sweet words and memories.
