right after the boston show, no one would have expected that something wasn't quite right. The dancers had made it off stage and were contently speaking to each other backstage, well almost everyone. derek and hayley were in the middle of a heated argument that ended with him abruptly shouting, "we're through!" hayley stood there in a state of shock as derek walked off backstage somewhere. she didn't even know what to do at that very moment as she stared around the empty hall. a few tears fell down her cheeks as she ducked her head and walked into the girls' dressing room. hayley began to wipe off her stage make up, taking deep breaths and trying to keep herself from dissolving into a crying mess. she ignored the conversations of her fellow dancers around her as she began to clean up her chair, just wanting to get onto the bus so that she could cry without anyone seeing. "are you okay hayls?" someone asks from beside her and hayley glanced over through the mirror to see britt looking at her with a concerned look. "i really don't want to talk about it here." hayley replied as she wiped under her eyes as she tried to not make it obvious to anyone as britt nodded her head.

soon the cast made their ways to the busses and derek ignored her the entire time, she honestly couldn't believe that he ended their relationship. she went onto the bus and knew there was no way they'd be sharing a bunk and she wanted to avoid him at all costs while he was still there. she ended up in the front lounge, going through her instagram account and deleting all the posts of him since she saw that he'd done the same. she honestly felt confused, and really didn't know what to do. it reminded her of how she and alan had broken up and she honestly really never understood how they ended. he flat out told her that he wanted to remain friends but felt like they weren't meant for each other and it confused her since they seemed so good together. she wanted to figure this out more. she went to alan's bunk and poked her head under the curtain, "hey al, i have a question for you." she says, noticing a tired alan staring back at her.

"what's up hayley? it's almost midnight." alan replied, squinting down at his phone for the time.

"why'd you break up with me? you never gave me a reason." hayley asks, causing alan's face to change a little bit realizing something. "why are you concerned with the break up?" alan questions. "well lets see, derek just broke up with me for the same you fucking did!" hayley says with a tad bit of anger, not receiving an answer from either of them. she'd been left in the dark about the whole break up with both of guys she'd had relationships with. "we should probably go talk about this in the back lounge." alan says as he hopped out of the bunk and tugged hayley behind him by her wrist. "why are we going back here?" she questions, her confusion beginning to turn into anger. "because i don't think you're fully ready for anyone to hear what i'm about to say." alan states as he sat on the couch and patted the spot beside him. hayley sat beside and said nothing as she waited for any answer from alan.

"well when i first met you, i thought there was something a little different, you were very sweet and i was attracted to you. and well honestly, you seemed so nervous around the other girls, i remember the first show night, you waited until everyone was out of the dressing room before going to get changed because of something. you definitely weren't struggling with confidence and i knew that. and then we went on tour and you would always change in the guys' dressing room,  i fully didn't understand it at time why you did those things until we really weren't intimate, like you didn't want to touched by me and i didn't question that but i was your boyfriend at the time and i honestly thought something else." alan explains as hayle began to think, her mind spinning as she thought about everything he just told her and she felt like it was really true, she was even this way during dancing with the stars shows and tours, she felt that hated changing in front of the girls, but she really had no problem changing in front of the other girls but she felt that she caught herself staring at the others and she didn't know if that her or them uncomfortable.

"so what are you saying by this?" hayley asks, starting to have an idea of what alan was going to say.

"i honestly thought you were into girls." alan says, trying his best to tell her exactly what he was thinking and not wanting to hurt her feelings as hayley stared at her hands. she began to think about the instances in a different light, she didn't like changing in front of the girls she would stare and she didn't want them to think that she was into them and she wasn't ever intimate with alan or derek because she wasn't into guys at all. "maybe you're right." hayley says
