I Beat You Again! (Sero Hanta x not specified! reader)

Here's the jealous oneshot!
The angsty one is coming out next, keep a lookout. Reader's gender is not specified!

Sero snorted as his friend dragged him to the next machine. "We've only played that one 1600 times, why not again?"

"Come ON Sero, you're not gonna die after one more round! And see, there's only one guy at the machine now, we'll be able to get to it quickly!"
(Y/n) excitedly pulled their friend to the arcade machine they wanted to play. Their high score on the machine had recently been bested by the black-haired boy, and they couldn't wait to fix it so they'd win again.
As they got to the machine, a taller, handsome boy was just putting in a couple more quarters. "Hiya! You like that game too?" (Y/n) cheered, wanting to make friends.

"Well yeah, it's practically the best one in here! I just beat the high score on the machine."

"Oh. My. GOODNESS!! Really?! I was just going to defend my second-highest score! The next highest belonged to my buddy Sero. Say hi Sero, don't be a cold fish."
(Y/n) nudged the boy.

"Oh yeah, hi. I'm Sero, nice to meet you. What's your name?"

"I'm Max." The taller male grinned and turned back to the shortest person there. "Want to see if you can beat me?"

The (y/h/c) teen was thrilled. "Yesss!!! I'm so totally sure I can beat your ass. You're going down!"

They began to play, and Sero felt an odd sense of annoyance. He sat down, attempting to think out his issues. 'What's wrong with me? They're not doing anything bad... maybe Max is giving a weird vibe? No, he's just regularly friendly... well maybe it has something to do with... no, we convinced ourselves a while ago that I don't like (y/n). Right?'
Little did he know, by the end of that day, he'd prove himself wrong.

Many more guys had come up to 'hang out' with (y/n) in the time that they were beating the last high score, and the small-ish human was nearly surrounded. They were having an obliviously good time until Max placed an arm around them.
"Hey, so can I get your number? You're really cool and maybe we could.. go out sometime?"
The (y/h/c) teen blushed, but backed away a little.
"Actually, I like someone and I'm really hoping that uuh.. that I can ask them out tomorrow, but we can hang out as friends some more?"
Max frowned and pulled them closer. "Come onnnnn~~ you're really cute and I could get you anything you want. Promise~"
"I-I'm really not interested in that way and I've only known you for a short time-"
"Pleeeasssseeeeeeeeee?"
Sero heard this and sighed, telling Max to back off.
"Can't you see they're not interested? Piss off, okay?"
"Of course they are! (Y/n)'s just shy!"
"No they're not! Seriously, fuck off, dude!"
Max made a move to fight Sero, swinging at his gut. Thankfully, the tape boy blocked, and slapped him for good measure, turning to his friend.
"You okay?"
(Y/n) frowned, grabbing the noir-headed boy by his wrist and dragging him out back.
They shut the arcade door and say Sero down on the curb, standing over him agitatedly.
"Sero, what's the matter with you? You never act like this!"
"What?! I just defended you from that creep!"
"I'm perfectly capable of handling things like that on my own and you know it... please just tell me what's going on, you've been sulky all afternoon."
The shorter sighed and sat down next to Hanta, waiting for an explanation from their crush.

"W-well.." he began, "I just... it really bothers me that you get along so well with guys who obviously only want one thing from you... and I just- I want to protect you? I guess? You're such a pure and wholesome-ass person, and I really want to make sure you live a long, happy life with everything you've ever wanted. It sounds weird and I know I'm being weird, but I just... I think I like you?"
(Y/n) was shocked for a moment, but quickly got over it and began laughing. Well, more like cackling, let's be honest.
"Hah-oh-oh my GOD Sero! You're so- jeez.. pfft.."

Sero himself was confused as all fuck.
"What? What is it? (Y/n) are you okay? Is a villain making you uuh.. have a seizure? Wait, you're laughing.. oh. Then why are you laughing?"

"Sero Hanta, you are the most oblivious person I know. Just oblivious enough not to realize you're jealous."

"I'm- oh my god, you're right."

"My jealous boyfriend..."

"Yeah-wait what?"
The tape boy's jaw dropped. "Boyfriend?? You'd- b-be willing to give me a chance?! That's- (y/n) you're so sweeet!!!"

"Jeez, of course! I like you too, big dumb bitch."

The day ended with the two teens making fun of each other for their scores at the arcade.
