The next day...
I got up and dressed and headed to the hospital,
I wanted to see Leah first thing in the morning.
When I got there, I checked in and headed up to see her.
"Good morning!"
I said when I walked in the door...
But Leah wasn't there,
Just then, the nurse walked in.
"Ahhh, Mr. Neal, just the person I wanted to see..."
She said...
"Listen, I have some news, that isn't what you want to hear..."
I was then shaking, and scared... What if Leah died? What would I do!?
We both sat down on the bed and she looked me right in the eyes and said.
"Leah, isn't doing so great... We think she doesn't have that much longer to live..."
My eyes began to water.
"But we are going to do everything we can to help her on her long road to recovery."
I wiped my eyes...
"We need your help as well, you mean the world to her, so you need to be there every step of the way. Can you do that?"
The nurse asks me...
I wipe my eyes again and say...
"The long road to recovery it is, the long road to recovery it is..."
