I sit up in the hotel bed as I scroll through twitter tweeting about the day “@EllieHayes: Been a good day, chillin’ in the studio with some cool people ;)’ Jack told us not to tell anyone about the second album or working with The Vamps. It has to be kept a secret. “It was so amazing seeing you smile like that today.” Jess admits as she comes and sits in the bed next to mine. “Was this your idea?” I ask her as I see a tweet from Brad on my timeline. “@TheVampsBrad: what a cool day waheyy!” I smile as I go to favourite it but I stop myself when I realise what stalkers the Liars are. They would see what I tweeted then analyse it with what I had favourited. “Maybe, maybe not.” She jokes but I know she did, she’s the best friend anyone could ask for and not to forget she’s crazily talented and gorgeous! “Connor is probably the sweetest person ever, he was so worried when he took me to the catering room.” I feel like telling her about how we were just talking normally but I feel like I want to keep it to myself. Like a memory that’s mine of the first time I ever spoke to one of my idols. I yawn as I go to log off twitter when I get a DM. Because my account is verified. I only get notifications off other verified users and people I want to get their notifications like my brother or family members who aren’t verified. “I have a message from James?” I tell Jess as I look at the message in confusion. It says ‘He’s like a sex god. His hair and his eyes and his body and his musical ability and that nose ring blows my mind away ;)’  “Mcvey, from the Vamps?” Jess replies and I nod. I look at the message for the next two minutes and I don’t quite understand it until Jess looks over at my screen. “That’s what you said in the twitcam about Connor you idiot.” She playfully yet forcefully slaps my head. “He watched the twitcam?” The words fly out of my mouth as I hear Jess start laughing. “And that’s why I got all A’s and A*’s n my exams and you only got B’s.” It’s true, Jess is so much more smarter and tends to think more about stuff than I do. “James knows I have an obsession with Connor. Oh god.” I laugh as if it’s a bad thing. But maybe it isn’t. I reply to him saying ‘I guess you can call me a Connor Girl ;)’ I then log off and go to sleep.

I stare out of the hotel window as I see the views stretch for miles. The wind skims over the river Thames as it rocks boats from side to side. The sky is of a murky grey colour as clouds dominate the sky, imprisoning the sun that’s meant to be shining in August. 2014 summer is nearly over and here in England we’ve hardly had any warm weather. The Vamps are playing at Fusion Festival, in Birmingham, in four days and I hope the weather picks up for them. I look down to see a small lane with hundreds of screaming girls, obviously waiting to meet us. “What time is it?” I ask Jess who stands in front of the dressing table brushing her hair. “Half six.” She replies. Half past six in the morning and there has to be over a hundred people waiting to meet us. “Jack’s not going to let us meet them, we’ve got so much work to do at the studio today.” I sigh as I feel heartbreak for the Fans who’ve woken up early expecting to meet us. “Didn’t I tell you that Jack’s coming over in a bit to escort us to meet the fans.” Jess informs me. I turn my head to her in surprise. Jack never lets us meet fans unless it’s an organised event because it’s too dangerous for us and the fans so its shocks me when Jess tells me this. “Oh my god I can’t go out looking like this.” I acknowledge as I look down to my clothes. My whole outfit is sported by Forever 21: acid wash ripped jeans, a black cut-out tank top that says ‘Believe in Unicorns’ and white Converse. My hair is messily tied up and I made a little bit of effort with makeup, but not a lot. “You look fine!”

I walk over to the coffee machine and make myself an espresso. “I think I need ten of these after this morning.” I declare as I wait for the hot beverage to brew. We met some fans outside of the hotel and I made sure everyone who wanted a photo or something signed got it. I felt so worn out after it though, I nearly fell asleep in the van on the ten minute drive to the studio. Finally, my espresso is made and I take a sip. “My god.” I speak through spitting the drink back into the cup. “That is disgusting.” I wipe my tongue with my mouth. “This tastes nothing like when Connor made it.” I sigh as I put the drink on the side. I see Jess buttering some toast with blueberry jam as she takes a seat at one of the tables. “Want me to make you one?” I hear Connor’s voice come from directly behind me. I nearly have a heart attack. “Where did you come from?” I ask in shock but with a huge smile on my face. His mouth curls into a smile. “Who knows.” Suddenly he grabs my waist and moves me aside. I want his hands to stay there forever. “These coffee beans are old, you need new fresh ones.” He says after opening up the machine. “Oh so that’s where you got to Con.” I turn around to see James leaning against the doorframe. I can’t help but laugh when I see him after remembering the DM on twitter. “I told you I was off to the catering room.” Connor annoyingly tells James, he replies almost straight away “You had breakfast at the hotel and we came to the catering room this morning, now again?” with a raised eyebrow, James walks out of the room. “Looks like there’s no fresh coffee beans but if you like you could come Starbucks with me and the boys at lunch time?” I don’t even have to think about it I just say “I’d love to.” With an even wider smile on my face.

I walk out of the studio with Brad, James, Connor and Tristan. Tristan and Brad walk in front as James, Me and Connor walk behind. “So I heard that you do twitcams, right Ellie?” James questions me and I know exactly where this is going. I turn to him and glare at him. “Really? We do twitcams all the time, I love doing them.” Connor declares as I turn to look at him. “Why don’t we watch some of their twitcams later Con?” Meaning they’re going to watch the most recent one where I said that Connor is like a sex god. I grit my teeth in embarrassment. “Twitcam?” Tristan turns around and so does Brad and they start carefully walking backwards. “Jess and Ellie do twitcams, I said to Con that we should watch them.” Although I’m not looking at James I can feel him smirking. “You did one on Monday, right?” Brad asks me and I nod. “Yesterday, yeah. We do them most Monday morning’s.” I inform them as Brad and Tris turn to face forward as we cross a main road. “We usually do them when we have important stuff to tell the fans.” Connor tells me as I smile because I already know that. “The last one I watched was when you announced the UK tour support acts, you’ve done loads in America but I haven’t been able to watch them because time difference.” I kind of don’t realise that I’ve just admitted I’m a fan until Tristan says “You’re a fan of us?” He looks shocked. What is there to be shocked about? Just because I’m famous doesn’t mean I can’t be a fangirl. “Oh she’s completely obsessed with us boys, watch her latest twitcam.” James says quite loudly and everyone stops walking and turns to James. “James!” I moan as I punch his shoulder, it seems to hurt my knuckles more than it hurts his shoulder. He gives me a sarcastic smile as we continue walking.

Luckily, Brad changes the subject on the rest of the way to Starbucks. When we get there me and Connor order shots of espresso, Brad orders an iced lemonade, Tristan orders a frozen berry yoghurt drink and James orders a mango and passion fruit juice blend. “What sort of stuff do you do in your spare time then?” James asks me as he sips his juice blend through a straw. “Well when I’m not working and at home I’m on my Xbox and re-watching The Vampire Diaries but when I’m at the studio and on the road I’ll just be on twitter because I can’t take my Xbox with me.” I explain. I surprisingly enjoy playing fifa the football game on Xbox but when I lose you wouldn’t like to see how angry I get. “Oh so you don’t live down here?” Connor asks and I shake my head. I take a sip of my espresso and say “I was born in Liverpool but when I was like a month old my mum and dad split up so me, my older brother and mum moved to Penkridge in Staffordshire.” I explain. I’ve never known my dad, why my parents split up or why my mum moved me and my brother to a completely different area. “Oh cool, that’s not that far from where I live in Sutton Coldfield.” Brad tells me, but of course I already know that. I also know that James lives in Bournemouth, Dorset. Tristan lives in Devon and Connor lives in Hatton, Warwick. They don’t need to know I know that though. “I wonder if Ellie can beat you at fifa Con, you are a pro at it.” Brad says and I like the sound of that plan. I see a smile creep onto Connor’s face and then I realise a smile has crept onto my face as well. “No one can beat me.” Connor says loudly and proudly. “Oh we’ll see about that.” I reply in a very sturdy voice. “Oh it’s on.”
