*PICTURE IS OF EVE*

My mother was about to be crushed by falling debris from the ceiling when I grabbed her out of the way.

I pulled her up and dusted her off. " Mother, we need to get these people out of here! These creatures will surely hurt the lot of them!" I yelped.

"Get them out of here? I am the queen of our kind and you are my daughter. We are getting out if here!" She exclaimed, pushing chairs and furniture out of the way, eyeing the door.

" Mom, what are you getting on about? It's the Council's job to protect them! Come on,  help me!"

Mother looked at the door, then looked at me.
" A true angel knows when to protect others, and when to protect oneself. Choose or I will choose for you."

I stared at her blankly. " You can't be serious! These people are going to die if I don't do something!"

" Then you have made your choice."

My mother's wings emerged from her back into their full form. Gliding into the air, she flew at the door, stopped abruptly, and turned. " I am disappointed, Eve. Very disappointed."

Then she was gone.

" Mother!! No, please, please come back! I'll do anything, please! Don't leave me! I don't know where to go! Help me! Please."

I started running towards the door when I heard a loud growl. As I turned, I smelled something. Rotting flesh. The demon in front of me most likely smelled my essence. My immortal essence, and I was starting to think that my eternal life might get cut short.

" Did the Queen of Angels just bail on her own daughter?"

"What a coward!!"

" Dear, come here." I numbly walked toward the nice vampire lady I had met earlier, eyeing the suspiciously still demon.

" It's gonna be okay, you gotta know that. You're gonna find a new family. Although they won't be blood, they'll be even closer to you then your mother ever was. I can tell you that from experience." I nodded. " Now, is there any weird angelic magic that you can do? We could really need it right about now."

I cleared my throat and looked at all of the flames I hadn't noticed. The people looking back at me, hoping for a miracle. They were counting on me.

" I only have practiced one chant, but it might work."

The nice vampire lady smiled at me. " Let's do it then."

...........................................

"eieci te inferno daemones!!!" I yelled, in my best sing-song while yelling voice. I continued running around the hotel, singing, yelling, and banishing demons. I was starting to feel a little little hope when the hotel exploded.

" Damnit!! I forgot about the Aldinach demon!"

My wings busted out of my back, allowing me to fly around, scooping people up and setting them in the forest surrounding the now in pieces, hotel.

The beta I had met said to me, " You have to run. I saw it in their eyes. They're just looking for you. Find somewhere to lay low, to hide, okay? Do not tell anyone who you are. I promise we'll be okay. Now run, and don't look back."
