chapter 3

  She stares at the old, crusty photo which captured the moment of her second birthday party. Back when she had a complete family, where she could be her beautiful self without anyone telling her otherwise. A warm tear fell from her left eye, but she quickly wiped it and put the dull photo back to where it belongs. She stands up from her small light blue bed and got ready to go to the building of justice and crime, the police station.

With a dull, grey, long sleeved shirt and a black pair of jeans, her and her uncle went out the door of their house and into the cruel polluted world. They got into their 2006 Honda car, as the scent of coffee and cigarettes filled the automobile. The little girl with the two small big tails and the uncle who took care of her, went to the place her father is being held by the long grey rusty bars. After a few minutes or so, she hops out of the car and held her uncle's hand, as they walk in the big, black and grey, building called the police station.

 The little girl knew that the incident before the day of her birthday, has caused her father being put behind bars. She sat down on the cold, black, worn out bench inside the building and waited for her uncle to bring back her father. As she sat, she began to think about the whole situation that would be embedded into her memories. She wanted to know who called the deputy. She instantly knew that maybe her mother had something to do with the arrest. Before she can think more with her big imagination, her uncle walked in with her father who looked fatigued and tired. The little girl jumped off from the black bench and ran to her father, happiness and relief that he was there to keep her safe, but ever since that day, he was different.... And she didn't like that.
