Erica gave Percy a confused look. "Related to the gods?" she asked, puzzled.
"Yeah," started Percy. "It adds up."
"Why do you think she's not a demigod?" Ben asked.
"Because we can tell that her parents are mostly mortal," said Percy.
"How will we know if she's actually a descendant of the gods if we don't go to Camp Jupiter? They claim legacies there," Annabeth said.
"Okay—What? This all going too fast and you're explaining none this to me," Erica said in utter confusion.
"Oh, sorry," began Annabeth. "We don't think you're a demigod but we do think you're a legacy. But we won't be able to know unless we take you to Camp Jupiter because here they only claim demigods, there they claim demigods and descendants of the gods. However, there they only claim those who are of Roman."
"What do you mean 'Roman descent'?" I asked. "Do you have to have Roman roots or something?"
"No, it isn't that complicated," Percy told me. "You have to have a Roman god or goddess in your family in order to be claimed there. Here you have to be the child of a Greek god or goddess."
"Oh, I get it," said Ben.
Erica nodded in agreement with Ben.
"So we're going to Rome?" I asked, "just to see who's Erica's godly relative is? Even if she's not related to the gods?"
"Oh no, she's related to the gods, that's established," said Annabeth, "and we're not going to Rome, we're going to New Rome."
"New Rome?" Asked Erica.
"Well it's Camp Jupiter basically, it's a more modernized version of Ancient Rome, however it still has some aspects of ancient civilization like the Roman baths, for example," Annabeth explained.
"We should get going," said Percy.
"To where?" Ben asked.
"Well to New Rome, of course," he said.
