Let's start from the beginning. My name is Blake Maxwell and I am the one and only Storm Spider. I have been fighting crime for two years with Spider-Man in Brooklyn. I am a 15 year old girl who is best friends with Miles Morales, attending Visions Academy. And this is my story.

~~~
"Blake! Time to go!" I hear my mother call.
"Coming!" I call back and grab my suitcase, heading down stairs. I pass my stepdad quickly, once again he reeked of alcohol, and give my mother a quick kiss on the cheek.
"I'm heading out" I say to her.
"Alright Blake, have fun and do well." My mother said as I walk outside. Across the street I spot my best friend, Miles, walking. I ran over to him and pull off his earbuds.
"Hey Mi" I say to him as he jumped.
"Oh my god, don't do that Blake" he said to me "you scared the shit out of me."
I laugh and he rolls his eyes, but smiles at me. He hands one earbud to me and I put it in my ear as he places the other one in his, I reach into my pocket and pull out the stickers I had made the night before and showed Miles. He grinned at me and I slapped a sticker on a mailbox while he jumps up and puts a sticker on the street sign. I hum along to Sunflower when Miles suddenly trips, causing me to fall on top of him in the middle of the street. I groan slightly, and looked to see Miles, our faces only a few inches apart. His hands were on my waist and both of our faces were red, I quickly scrambled off of him.
"Sorry" I muttered when I suddenly heard a police car.
~~~

I sat beside Miles in his dad's, Jeff, police car.

"Seriously, Dad, walking would have been fine" Miles said to Jeff and I nodded. "You really don't have to drive us, Mr. Morales." I said and Miles nodded. "Or at least me" I add quickly and Miles glared at me, pushing me lightly.

"You two can walk plenty on Saturday when you peel those stickers off." Jeff explained "and Blake, call me Jeff."

I nodded and Miles let out a groan.

"You saw that? I don't know if that was us" Miles explained and I nodded.

"And the two from yesterday on Clinton."

Miles smirked, "Yeah that was me. Blake would have joined if she didn't bail." He looked over at me and I playfully glared at him, "Sorry I had orchestra practice." I replied and poked his face, Miles swatted my hand away.

Jeff stared down at Miles and Miles' face showed hurt as he looked at the window, I frowned and glanced at Jeff. Jeff noticed the hurt and there was an awkward silence. I reached over and took Miles' hand, rubbing my thumb on the back of his hand as I looked out the window. I didn't spot the soft smile that he had given.

"Sooo... Look at that, another new coffee shop... you see that Miles?" Jeff asked his son.

"Totally, yeah..." Miles replied, not paying attention as the building goes by in a blur. I felt Miles move my hand to his lap and mess with my fingers, absentmindedly.

"You see that one, what's that one called?"

"Foam Party" Miles replied while I muttered it.

"Foam Party, come on... and everyone is just lining up. You see that, Miles?"

"I see it"

"Is that a coffee shop or a disco?"

"Dad, you're old, man" Miles groaned and I chuckled. Miles flashed a smile at me and I grinned back, getting the familiar feeling of butterflies in my stomach. Yes I'm in love with my bestfriend but will it ever happen, no it won't.
