It was a beautiful day in Corona. The birds were singing and the sky was a brilliant blue. It's been 20 years since Eugene & Rapunzel got married. A lot have changed since then. They got a daughter, Princess Layla, but she doesn't quite always agree with her parents. But today was a special day. It was Layla's birthday, her 18th.
"Hello? Layla? Sweetie?" Rapunzel said outside Layla's door. "Are you in there?" Rapunzel got no return. "Okay, I'm coming in," she said pushing the door open with her back. She was holding two cups of hot chocolate. "Sweet heart I-" she paused. While inspecting the room she saw a note.
"Dear Queen, today is a special day so I decided to go for a walk with Lucy. (Lucy was her horse what she got for her 16th Birthday) I'll see mom later. Love -Layla." Rapunzel smiled. "I hope she will not get into any mischief" Rapunzel said to herself and started to clean up the room.
Layla was walking around in the market. A gentle breeze blew her hazelnut colored hair into her face. "Why does this always happen to me?!" She said annoyed while pulling the hair away from her face. "Lucy, I have a craving for apples. You want some apples?" She said looking back at the horse trying to steal a carrot from a crate. "Lucy," Layla walked up to her.
"I'm sorry. My horse has a craving for food sometimes," Layla said trying to get a coin out of her dad's bag. "No need," said an old woman. She looked around and then spotted guards. A guard spotted her. "There she is!" Then she ran away as fast as she could. "What's going on?!" Layla demand. "Stay out of this mam" the guard said mounting his horse.
"C'mon Nightingale!" And with that he went. Nobody noticed Princess Layla. She was wearing a cape. Just long enough covering her dress and face. "I am a Princess, not a mam," she mounted her horse and followed the guard into the woods.
The old woman was struggling to get trough branches and bushes. Then she stopped and hid behind a tree. "Where is she? She couldn't just despaired!" A guard said shocked. "Look around. She couldn't got to far, we need to find her and bring her back to the King & Queen," the head guard, Steve, demanded.
Right there Layla got to the scene. Steve turned around. "I thought I said you should stay out of this!" Steve shouted. He thought that Layla was a peasant. "Don't speak to a princess like that Steve," Layla said proud.
"Princess Layla! I am sorry. I ask for your forgiveness, please" Steve begged. "Yeah, yeah you are forgive but what is going on here?" Layla said friendly. "Princess, I can't tell you this," Steve said. "Why? Because you think I can't handle it?" Layla said. She slowly started to get more and more annoyed. Steve didn't respond. "Kevin, go get the King & Queen," he said. He looked at a man in different clothes than the other. Layla couldn't help to feel attracted to him. He looked around 20 and had a darkish hair color.
"No Kevin. Stay" Layla demand but he was already off. "Why can't I get to have any fun. Please just tell me," he could see in Layla's that she was desperate.
"Fine, but don't tell a soul," Steve said. "I won't" Layla said quietly.
"This woman. She has something to do with your mom's past. Her name is-" Steve was interrupted. "Steve! Long time no see!" The woman said with a friendly, yet evil, voice. "Oh, who's this?" She stared at Layla. There was a pause. A deadly pause. "Layla, run." Steve demand. Layla could saw in his eyes that this was a life matter. And Layla could saw that this woman is capable off so much. And then a decision was made.
