(2) Shattered Mirrors

It's been hours.
Where was the cafeteria now?
Everyone's tired of walking around, not to mention Sweeps.
He was more tired than you were, his old self having to sit back and take a rest.

Ms. Mayhem sighed.
"It's like the walls and halls are rearranging-"
She put on a dull face before groaning.
"They are, aren't they? We can't leave, can we? Why, why are we stuck here? What's the purpose?"
She combed her hand through her blue hair, the spiral in her eye circling round and around.
She began mumbling to herself as she sat down on the floor, curling up a bit.
"I'm tired."
She muttered, leaning against the wall.

You stared at her for a moment, your knees aching a bit as you forced yourself to keep walking.

"Kid...where you going?"
Sweeps groaned, following a bit.
He stood between Mayhem and you.
You looked back at him, then back at Mayhem who had dozed off. An idea then popped into your mind.
You dug into your pocket, grabbing a crumpled piece of paper. You pointed at the pen in Sweeps shirt.
"May I borrow it?"

He raised a brow, rolling his eyes a little and handing the pen to you.
"Yeah, but give it back when you're done."
Sweeps moved to the side while watching you flatten the paper against the wall.

With the pen in hand, you wrote down on the paper, after, you set the paper in Ms. Mayhem's lap, then returned to Sweeps.

"Mm, good thinking, can't let her worry too much."
He looked down at you, expecting something.

You handed him the pen, Sweeps giving a gentle smile and tucking the pen away in his pocket.
You smiled back, feeling it was the polite thing to do.

Minutes later, you two were down again, your legs throbbing in pain as your back kissed the floor.
"And you'd think there was a way out. This place... It's confusing, I just want out!"
You yelled, knowing it wouldn't do much.

You heard something, something smacking in a steady pace, getting louder as it came closer to you...

Sorry it's a short chapter, I'll be sure to make up for it in the next two!
