Chapter 2:

I had never been all that good with the opposite gender, it's a wonder that I had actually had a boyfriend. I always talked too much, or not enough. I always had this attitude that told the poor guy that I wasn't interested and he should leave me alone. So knowing I was going on a summer long trip with one who happened to be my age and a manwhore, wasn't too appealing. I usually tried to avoid guys after my incident, I honestly wanted nothing to do with them. My mom had been saddened by this, but she also didn't go what I went through. She wanted me to be happy and I loved her for that, however, it never was enough.

A small part of me hoped that this trip would be good for me, but with Jesse's words in my head I couldn't help but think this would end badly. All that ran through my mind was: you're going to get hurt, you're going to get hurt, you're going to get hurt.

My dad called me downstairs letting me know that the Elliot's were here and this "wonderful" and "fun" vacation would start! I was so excited!

Please oh please, note the sarcasm. I grabbed my charger for my phone and put it in my bag with my laptop that I would be using to watch movies the whole way there. Making sure I would avoid talking to Luke Elliot at all costs. I had put on my shoes and slowly trudged downstairs. I tried to make my last moments in my house for the summer last by being as slow as a turtle.

"Casey, could you make it anymore obvious that you don't want to be on this trip?" Dad shook his head in disapproval while he chuckles so I knew he was joking.

"What? No! I want to go. Sitting in a car with you and mom and two strangers and a guy my age sounds so appealing!" Sarcasm dripped out of my sentence while I dragged out the "o" in "so".

"Honey, it will be fun I promise, I mean we are going to Texas for crying out loud!" He said encouragingly.

"Exactly! What's so great about Texas?" I retorted, hoping he would inform me as to what was so great about Texas.

"Don't underestimate Texas sweety, you'd be surprised. Don't be so quick to judge," he just smirked. Childishly I stuck my tongue out at him and continued dragging my child coffin down the stairs. I walked out the front door to a sight I wish I hadn't seen.

A minivan sat in our driveway with my mom in the chliché travelers hat talking to another woman with brown hair and dark eyes sitting in the back seat. They seemed to be.... Gossiping. But that's not why I wasn't too happy to see this, I noticed that they were sitting in the two back seats. And with my dad making his way to the passenger seat I knew I would have to sit in the very back crammed with Luke. Speaking of which, where was he?

"Where's Luke?" I asked while I somehow managed to fit my child coffin into the storage space in the back of the minivan. My mother turned around with Mrs. Elliot and frowned, hope flared in my chest that he wasn't going to make it.

"Unfortunately Luke couldn't make it," Mrs. Elliot said sadly my heart soared, "but he agreed to have Darren pick him up at the airport at our first stop because he really wants to meet you!"

Well damn.

"Well where is he?" I asked nosly.

"He's at the children's hospital," she smiles brightly as if she were proud that her son was at a hospital. But based off of what Jesse said he's most likely getting some last good sex fixes with the school sluts, that little manwhore. I closed the back of the car door and scowled while climbing into the very back with my laptop.
