June sat in the back of a dark oak classroom with little intricate designs of gold and silver, listening to a teacher lecture everyone on how to be an appropriate lady. She doodle in her notebook as she turned her head towards the window. She was in a class for being a princess. Each girl in this classroom would eventually be crowned "Miss Carlson" June's head turned hearing her last name be called "Yes Mrs. Morson?" she asked gently as much as she hated being trained to be a princess, she had learned being cocky got her nowhere in life. "What is the answer to my question?" "I'm sorry Mrs. Morson I zoned off can you repeat the question for me" "Who do you think you'll be marrying when you begin the courting class?" June had this question before and hated it the most "I have yet the meet the Princes-in-training so I will pick once I have gotten to the class" she spoke kindly. "Do you really think that's how it works June?" asked the snotty and rich; River Forquinn. "I believe that both parts have to be interested and I believe no one will be interested in your nasty attitude River" June spoke and a few of the girls snickered at the comment "Now Miss Carlson that wasn't very kind of you" "I am sorry but in my opinion girls like River should be nicer it'll give her a better outlook on life and the Princes will like her more" June said softly and looked towards River with a smile but her eyes spoke with daggers. River shivered and looked away. "Seeing as you have brought up not meeting the Princes-in-training. I have a surprise. You girls must get ready in your dresses" June's eyes widened she had wanted to see her dress for so long and now she finally gets to. She stood so quick her head began to spin. "Calm down girls. I know how exciting this is but you must be proper." June nods and looks to her best friend in the entire class Claire and smiles "You ready?" asked Claire and June nodded enthusiastically. She hooked arms with her and walked to the back of the room. She opened the door and gasped all the dresses lined up each one had a choker with a gold pendant hanging from it with a letter engraved into it. Each one represented a girl. Each one in alphabetical order. She walked up the one with her initial in it and smiled gently she raised her hand to the choker and took it off the mannequin and placed it around her neck clipping it into place. She looked down at the dress slowly. The dress had caused the air in her lungs to get caught in her throat. The silver dress was down to the floor in a sweetheart trumpet style had golden flowers embroidered into the bottom and top of the dress around the waist was a green sash with more gold flowers embroidered into it with silver and pale green beads around the edges. Tears came to June's grey eyes "Claire," she spoke and turned to see Claire staring at her dress and smiled at how loving her friend looked. She got help putting on the corset style dress pulling up her duel red hair as one of the workers helped her into it.

June sighed gently and played with the pendant waiting for her friend to come out. Claire walked out in a pastel pink ball gown the edges of the bottom were hot pink and it reached just above Claire's ankles. There were no patterns embroidered into the dress around the waist was hot pink beads sewn into the dress. Claire stared at June "Damn June I didn't expect you to get one of the best dresses!" "What do you mean I think yours is better" She said and her friend gently smacked her shoulder and hooked arms with her "To the ballroom" Clair said enthusiastically. June breathed out and began walking she had an issue with heels even though she wore them, daily. She looked around as the other girls from other classes watched in jealousy. Once in the ballroom, June and Claire separated arms but still stood next to each other "Now girls be prepared once the Princes-in-training come in watch them carefully because after you meet you will be starting the Courting Class" Some of the girls began to squeal. June was stunned and Claire looked ready to leave the room. "Alright boys" called the instructor. June watched as the boys walked in and began to scrunch her nose until her eyes caught onto one and her heart almost stopped. His piercing blue eyes stopped on her grey ones and she placed a hand on her chest the young man had slightly tanned skin and brown unruly hair. He smiled a little at her and walked towards her "Lance Sorne." he said taking her hand and kissing causing her heart to jump in her throat. "J-June Carlson" As they spoke the instructor seen the two getting along very well and pulled out his glasses putting them on he looked at his notepad and wrote down their names with a small smile knowing that the two would get to know each other very well. He noticed many of the girls giggling over the boys so he decided that music would be best for them to know each other. June's head turned when she heard music "Care to dance?" Lance asked and June gulped but nodded placing a hand in his and on his shoulder they began to dance. "So what do you like to do?" asked Lance "I like to write and draw" "So you're smart and beautiful" he spoke and Junes face turned a deep red "Is your hair naturally that color?" he asked referring to her duel red hair "Yes. No one knows how its possible" she says to him. They continued talking until it was time for the two to leave.

June removed her dress carefully and walked to her closet and carefully put it in there. She turned looking to Claire, who of course was her roommate "That was amazing" She said in full glee. Claire giggled "I didn't think you would be this giddy after meeting a guy." "Oh shut up you ass." "Oh you know I'm kidding lets get some sleep tomorrow will be a busy day with our courting class" Claire said and June laid in her large bed sprawled out falling asleep rather quickly having a rather eventful day.
