thamana's pov :
"grayson? what are you doing here? more importantly, how did you find out my address?"
"i'm here to talk to you and you don't need to know that." he says
"why didn't you-"
he cuts me off my grabbing my keys out of my hands and opening up the front door, tossing me back my keys.
i watch as he runs up the stairs and i chuckle and drop my head, tugging my shoes off.
i sigh, feeling my feet finally free but groan immediately later, feeling the pain.
i hear my room door creak open and i quickly run up the stairs to see grayson looking around, grinning widely.
"smells like vanilla in here. like you."
i blush but clear my throat, looking through my drawers for my pajamas.
"i'm gonna go change and get comfortable. make yourself comfortable." i smile
"i'll be here." he smiles, jumping onto my bed
i chuckle and grab my oversized hoodie and shorts.
as i shut the door behind me, i let out a deep sigh of relief and tug my glasses off and start changing.
as i finish up, i take a deep breath again and turn the door knob painfully slowly and grayson's eyes meet mine again.
he puts his pencil down and he stares at me, looking up and down.
i clear my throat, feeling shy and he breaks his gaze, clearing his throat.
"sorry." he murmurs, looking back to his notebook
i grab a pencil that was hanging off from my desk and get into my bed, scooting closer to him.
"can i check?" i ask
he puts his pencil behind his ear and runs his hand through his hair, putting all his weight onto his other arm. he nods in agreement and i smile softly, grabbing the notebook off of his lap.
"grayson! you didn't do bad at all!" i smile
"what did i get?" he asks
"you only got two wrong."
he groans and slumps into my covers, hiding his face in my blankets.
"i'm never going to understand this." he whines
"i'll help you out. c'mon, get up."
—
i watch as he puts his algebra notebook away but he still stays on my bed, repositioning himself.
"i wanted to talk to you about... whatever happened at my house."
"i'm sorry. i just didn't know how to handle that situation." i smile
"you don't have experience? at all?" he asks
i shake my head and drop my head, playing with my blankets.
"i'm sorry. i didn't know that-"
"i-it's ok grayson."
i continue playing with my blanket and i hear him shuffling around in my bed.
"you're interested in photography?" he asks, walking over to my camera
"mhm." i reply, following him
he turns on my camera and looks through the photos to see what pictures i've taken.
"seems like you really love sunsets." he looks up at me, chuckling slightly
i nod vigorously and blush in embarrassment, realizing i showed too much excitement.
my eyes look up to see grayson smiling at me, shaking his head slightly.
"why are you smiling at me like that?" i ask
"i just find it cute how you're so interested in sunsets. how did you get into photography though?" he asks
"it's just my escape from reality. i picked up a camera one day and just started taking pictures. i always take them at my safe place though."
he immediately grabs onto my hand and rushes us out of my room.
"where are we going?" i ask
he ignores me and grabs my keys off of the counter of the kitchen. i tug my shoes on with just my feet as he continues to pull me towards the door.
"so, where is this safe place of yours?" he asks, unlocking my car and grinning
"i'll be your gps." i smile
—
i gasp in excitement and grayson stops the car and i jump out, grabbing my camera.
"just in time for the sunset." he says smiling and sitting next to me
i smile and sigh deeply, putting all my weight on my arms and resting them behind my back.
