third person's pov :

thamana takes quick and tiny glances at her phone, praying that her brother or her mom could text her at any given moment.

"c'mon, just one text and i can get out of this situation!" she murmurs quietly

"what was that, thamana?" ethan asks

"nothing!" she quickly smiles, straightening up her posture in the puffy, dark brown chair she's slouching on

a mischievous smile is plastered atop aria's lips and thamana internally cringes, knowing she has bad intentions.

"so... i was thinking that grayson could-"

"h-hey! did you guys hear about that football game coming up? super exciting, right?"

aria glares at thamana with her jaw wide open, nose flaring while taking deep and heavy breaths that were obviously noticeable since her chest was heaving so much.

"ya, we did. you know we're on the football team, right thamana?" grayson chuckles, quirking his right eyebrow up and slouching his right leg over his left as he adjusts in his fluffy seat

"oh. right." she nervously chuckles, her eyes lighting up as she get's a text from her brother

"well, this was so much fun! thanks so much for bringing me here, grayson. but... aditya just texted me and i just have so much work! text me about any questions you have about the work, grayson. bye guys!"

before another one of the classmates have a chance to spit out anything, she slams the door behind her and smiles intentionally as a cold breeze seeps through her skin, making her shiver.

"thamana!"

her eyes trail around the neighborhood but stops when she sees her brother's oh-so familiar car.

"why'd you text me in such a hurry?" aditya asks as he watches his sister grab for the car door and situate herself in the car seat

"you know how aria is sometimes." she mutters, struggling to click her seatbelt into the buckle

a loud chuckle falls past thamana's lips as she points at her laptop and starts cackling loudly, stuffing popcorn in her mouth and smiling widely.

her phone starts vibrating intensely, making her eyebrows furrow but she doesn't look since she's so invested in 'jersey shore.'

suddenly, loud and tiny pats are heard from her window and her eyebrows furrow in curiosity.

it'll go away, right?

suddenly, they become louder and harsher; making her jump in shock.

taking a deep breath, she grabs her water bottle from her nightstand and grips it in her tiny hands while taking tiny, little steps towards her window.

she squints her eyes open as she meets her curtains and groans loudly as she sees who it is.

"ethan! are you kidding me?" she whisper yells, popping her head out of the tiny window

"a water bottle. you think a water bottle could knock me or anyone else out?" ethan smirks, a hand on his hip while he squints up at thamana's shadow. "also, turn your lights off, i can't even see you. do you want to blind me? damn."

she shakes her head but obliges, turning off the bright lights making ethan smile and grin widely.

"why are you here though? not that it's bad."

"before you start ranting, i need to talk to you." ethan chuckles

"talk to me?! about what? did i do something-"

"no, no! i just... i don't really have anyone to share this with."

"what is this." thamana quotes

"i'm freezing my balls off out here, can i please just come up. your parents will understand right?"

"ethan. i've never even had a guy come to my house before, besides my brother and my cousins. but sure, i'll make them understand." she chuckles, pointing to the front door and twirling around to run to her parent's room

she gulps as her hand makes contact with the cold knob and she twists it, making her insides turn with nervous butterflies.

"what's up, honey?" her mom asks, eyes still glued to the tv as a random comedy show is blaring throughout the walls of their room

"well... my friend wants to talk to me. he's kind of outside, like right now." she answers back, fiddling with her fingers to try to calm down her nerves

"he?" her parents repeat

"he's the brother of the guy i'm tutoring. he just needs help with something!" she quickly says

"sure. we'll come down with you to meet him."

thamana nods quickly as a grin forms on her face and she skips down the stairs, waiting to hear the familiar heavy footsteps.

as she hears the stairs creak, she abruptly opens the door and is met with a gust of cold wind hitting atop her warm face.

"h-holy fuck. i've never been more cold in my god damn life." ethan murmurs, his head buried inside his jacket

his eyes widen as he sees tall figures in front of him but he covers his nervous expression up with a hesitant smile.

"oh, hi! i'm ethan. i just came here because i needed some help with some problem's last minute. i hope you don't mind..."

"oh, of course not! do you want some hot chocolate, sweetie? you look like you're freezing." her mom grins, running into the kitchen to grab the hot chocolate mix before ethan can even answer

"oh! you don't have to-"

"no, no. i want to! you go run upstairs with thamana and i'll bring your mug in when it's ready. how many marshmallows would you like?"

"however many you'd like." ethan grins

she chuckles at his response and raises her finger in his direction, "you're funny, ethan. i like you."

"do you want anything to eat, too?" her dad asks

"oh my gosh, no. i don't want to trouble you guys, this is already so generous."

they nod at his response and motion their head's towards the stairs; thamana and ethan running up the stairs while holding in their childish giggles.
