Langt síðan þetta land var fryst, stríðið stakk eins hratt og kalt útbreiðslu. A að eilífu virðist vetur að aldrei enda. Það þangað til sveinninn grafir sverð sitt inn í hjarta dýrsins, sem bölvaður hefur þetta land. Aðeins þá skal þetta frosna land snúa aftur til það sem það var einu sinni.
Over and over the words repeat in my head while I sleep, it's the only thing I ever dream.
Many times I have seen myself walking across the room, my fingers graze each word as I read them aloud.Once I get to the last word a powerful feeling rushes through my body and I open my eyes. Nothing, I'm back in my room. I sit up and look around.
The light of the sun is nowhere to be seen, yet again. I groan and flop myself back onto my pillow and pull the pillow over my face. Why does this always happen to me, what does the dream mean. I close my eyes in hopes to fall asleep again.
Soon after finally I fall into a luckily dreamless sleep, usually I will have the dream and then have regular black sleep for a few days and repeat, but lately the dreams have become more frequent. I'm luckily if I can even sleep through the light.
The dream means something. It has to, it's been the same dream all my life doing the same thing over and over. There is no way it's just a coincidence or my imagination like my mother says.
I open my eyes and my mother is standing over me with a disapproving look. I look up at her wondering why she looks so upset.
"Good mornin mother" I said yawning. Her face crunches in annoyance.
" morning, no it's midnoon Ashani , why were you sleeping so long" she asked putting her hands on her hips.
"Oh I had the dream again, and I couldn't go back to sleep for a little while" I said "it woke me up in the wee hours of the mornin".
"The dream, by gods girl when will you ever get over the silly dream of yours" she whined.
"It's not a silly dream mother, it seems real. I truly believe it means something" I argued getting out of bed.
"Oh dear gods know I should throw you into an asylum for your silly thoughts girl" she cried. I turn around in fear and look down.
My mother notices this and her face softens, "I would never do that to you dearie, couldn't possibly lock away a child for havin an imagination" she said softly. "specially not after what happened to yur' father" she said sadly.
" come down, we have guests" she said and walked out of the room.
I head over to my small wardrobe and pull out a brown embroidered dress. I slip the dress on and head down the stairs. I hear my mother talking to some other people. I turn the corner and gasp, nobleman. In my house, why.
"Mother what is he doing here" I said spitefully. The mans face contorted in anger at my outburst. " darling behave, be respectful and sit down" my mother said.
I sneered in disgust, I plop down in the seat across from the man. " I'm sorry she hasn't been around very many people being raised in these wood" my mother said placing an entire chicken, along with various vegetables in front of him.
I stare in disbelief. That is more then we eat in a week. "Mother where did all this food come from" I asked.
"From our pantry dear, why" she asked. I didn't answer. So this man comes into our home and eats over a weeks worth of our food.
The man looks at me scowling at his plate." would you like some girl" he said dangling a leg in my face, he's talking to me like I'm some animal I shake my head. I look at him in disbelief as he throws it on the ground. " eat" he commands.
