BEYOND YOUR EYES

PROLOGUE

This is a new story I recently started writing. I'm sorry for any mistakes, english is only my second language, so bare with me XD So, please tell me what you think....

PROLOGUE

I couldn't take it anymore. I was running as fast as I could, but my adrenaline was running out. There were too many of them, too many. I couldn't get away.

My breath was coming in white clouds and I could hear my steps echoing in the dark street, as well as theirs. They were coming closer, catching up to me. Why couldn't they just leave me alone! I've done nothing to hurt them. I never broke the law; I'm just a girl for Christ's sake! I turned left- Shit! Dead end. I turned around just in time to see them turn into the alley. They stopped abruptly and grinned, a sick grotesque, morbid grin. Their sharp teeth gleamed in the moonlight. They strode towards me slowly, tauntingly, their huge build blocking most of the entrance to the alley. My heart was racing and beating so hard it threatened to explode out of my chest.

I raised my hand and threw a ball of fire towards them, which they easily ducked. I started throwing more fire and since that didn't work, I then threw power at them. It didn't work either, they seemed to have an anti-magic barrier protecting them. They were coming closer and closer. Not knowing what else to do I extended my arms in front of me and created a barrier myself, a wall that would block them. But I was weak; the running, the fighting, I had already killed two of them and there were still three left! It was all draining me, I didn't have enough power to create a strong wall and they easily broke through my barrier. They circled me, trapping me against the wall. I fell to the floor, exhausted. They hovered above me and smiled once again before lunging at me.

An ear piercing scream echoed through the whole street, but it was abruptly cut off.
