"Ya'll better pick it up or we're gonna run until the sun goes down" yelled Coach Hannah.
He was making us run wind sprints to get us conditioned for the upcoming season and by how slow we were going we definitely need this. I could tell the guys were getting winded so when we made it to the end zone I stepped up and said,
"Come on we got this! Think of this as the fourth quarter and give it everything you got!"
It was my job to encourage the guys since I was the team captian and the quaterback. I could tell the team listened because we made it back to the opposite end zone to the coachs liking. Coach Parker, the deffensive coach, told us to hit the showers but before i could go very far Coach Hannah called
"Toni, come here I gotta talk to you."
I rolled my eyes whe I heard him say my nickname. My real name was Tori but the football team came up with the oh so funny nickname. Note the sarcasam.
"How's the brothers doing? Austin still in college? Heard from Spencer lately? Hows Cutter doing?"
The last two questions put me in a sour mood. The last time I talked to Spencer was 8 years ago when he decided to live with our Dad instead of our Mom. He was the only one who chose to leave our Mom. Austin, Cutter, Carson, and me all chose to stay with mom. But Spencer did everything to please our Dad and get his approval. He hates confrontation so when our parents got a divorce my Dad made Spencer live at his house. I tried to live with my dad at first but I'm to much like my mom. Which means my dad and Grandma hated me but don't worry the feeling is mutall. They are the most judgemental people you'll ever meet!
Coach knows Spencer because he was here his sophomore year on varsity until he moved. Coach also knows we won't talk because Spencer hates me. My dad talked so much crap about me that Spencer stated believing it. Coach Hannah just likes asking that because he knows I still miss him even though I act like I don't.
As for Cutter, 8 months ago he left a party with Jake, his bestfriend, they were both drunk. Cutter was driving and they say he swerved and ran straight into a tree. Jake only had a broken leg but Cutter was taken to the hospital right away. The doctors told us he's in a coma and they didn't know when he would wake up. So we moved him to a home where they knew how to take care people in comas. Coach Hannah knows Cutter cause he was on varsity since sophmore year. He played running back
"Austin's going on his last year of college. He's so ready to be done and get a job."
Coach just nodded so I decided to head out. When I got to my truck Carson and Lane are waiting for me and boy do they stink!
"Did y'all even take a shower?!" I asked and of course they said no.
At least our house wasn't to far from the school. By the time we got home half the team was already there. Everyone was in there usual spot. Carson ran to his room to change into his bathingsuit and Lane went straight to the kitchen to get as much food as he could before it was all gone. I doudt we had enough food for 9 boys that just got out of football practice so without even having to ask I ordered 3 large pizzas.
Since I didn't get a chance to take a shower after football practice I decided to take one now. I took my time and let the cool water wash the dirt and grime away. Afterwards I put my wet hair into a clip and threw on Nike shorts and a T-shirt.
I heard the doorbell ring and would bet its the pizza guy. I knew the boys wouldn't get it because by now they were all on XBox playing Madden NFL 15. When they start a game they wont settle until they think they have won enough games which is usually 5 games each.
One time Austin and I played a joke on them by giving them a controller that didn't work while Austin actually played for them and he would make them lose against me. It went on for hours, I ended up winning 15 games and $25.
I heard some very girlish screams from down stairs which is really weird if you have some of the biggest guys in school at your house. I ran down stairs to see what the commotion was and saw my favorite person in the whole entire world!
