Chapter 1
I was running as fast as I could threw the woods but they were still gaining on me. I charged up the hill on the bottom was a river if I could just get to it then I would be safe.I could feel there breath on my fur I was almost to the top I just have to jump..... and ill be safe. I could here them calling my name "licorice licorice wake up licorice" I had stopped to listen and just then they got me.They jumped on me from all sides and were biting me but I could still here them calling my name "licorice licorice wake up .
I opened my eyes to find silver standing over me "finally" she said "i've been trying to get you up for five minuets" a dream it was only a dream. "Sorry" I said "your kicking and whining woke me up its a surprise you didn't wake up the hole pack!" she said "what did you want?". Its time for the hunting party to go out I figured you would want to now so you wouldn't get in trouble again" she growled.
"Thanks" I said as I got up, when I got out side every one was waiting for me and when I came out the lead hunter(snake) came to me."Your late again"she growled "we were supposed to leave at sun up that was ten minuets ago you ether need to be on time or not come at all" with that she turned around and said "its time we hunted lets go" .
They're were five of us going hunting snake,shadow,big paw,silver and me we have been the hunting party for three moons and I've been late for half a moon. It was the dream I keep having it the same all the time I don't no why there chasing me how to stop them or who they are but it wont stop coming. I guess it will go away eventually but right now its getting me in trouble.
We stopped and smelled the air "dear" said big paw "good" said snake "now every body get ready to hunt" we all found are spots and waited. Soon I saw big paw creeping up on the heard of dear I got ready to spring out as soon as he scared them. First big paw was supposed to scare the dear my way then we were supposed to heard them toward shadow and silver. Then the dear would be surrounded and we would attack. When we have one down then the rest will try to get away but that's when we leave one wolf There to finish it of then snake comes and we attack another dear.
When we were finished we went home with two big dear and one small "well that was a good catch but we'll have to go out again so there's enough for every body" said snake. "licorice can I talk to you?" "sure" I said and walked over to her "you have to get hear on time and your punishment for not being on time is you can collect new bedding for the elders" said snake with that she walked away.
As I turned to go out side to get the moss I saw silver staring at me but as soon as she saw me looking she turned away.I stared a little longer then turned away and went out side to collect bedding I had to go to the lake to get the moss so I had to lay it in the sun to dry.I took it back to are cave and went to the elders spot and layer the moss down. "Finally some new bedding for my old bones its been at least one moon since i'v had new bedding" grumbled diamond "I think snow would like some new bedding to and hurry up its going to rain soon" she said i looked up and asked "how do you now its going to rain?" "because my joints are aching that's how now get going" I got up and left and when I got out side I looked up not a cloud in the sky.
When I got done with the bedding I whent down to the cave entrance it was almost time to go hunting and I didn't want to be late...again.
