Taylor woke up abruptly, gasping as the nightmare faded away.

She looked around, an uneasy feeling tugging at her stomach. It was completely silent. So silent that you could hear a pin drop a mile away. On top of that it was completely dark.

She shuddered when she heard the floorboard creak.  She laid back down, closing her eyes and listening carefully.

Suddenly, a thump sounded down the hallway. She froze and her eyes flew open, but she assured herself that it was probably just her dog.

Closing her eyes once more, she rolled over and tried to go back to sleep. But just as she was drifting back to dream world, a rough, cold palm slapped across her mouth.

Panicking, she thrashed violently. Another hand firmly grabbed her wrist. She tried to scream, but the hand muffled her attempts.

Defeated, she strained to look at her captor in the dark. She could tell it was a man. He leaned forward with a cloth in his hand, quickly removing his hand and shoving it against her mouth before she could react. After that everything faded out into black.

Taylor opened her eyes, blinking the sleep from them. She was in a dim lighted room on a chair. It was quiet other than the small buzzing noise that continuously buzzed.

Confused, she attempted to stand. It all came back to her in a second. She remembered the cloth and the man. Her heart stopped when she realized her hands and ankles were bound to the chair.

Her wrists were raw, irritating her skin and making her bite her tongue. She couldn't scream because she knew that the man would come running in if she did.

Her fear was getting in the way of her rational thinking, urging her to scream. Her entire body shook violently from fear and shock.

Taking deep breaths to ease herself, she started planning to escape. First she needed to look at her surroundings. She looked around the small room, scanning every corner until something caught her eye.

She moved her gaze to the area she thought she saw something. Her heart jumped to her throat when she saw the silhouette of another child.

"Hey! Are you okay?" Taylor asked, trying to get it's attention. The figure jolted awake, looking around with wide eyes as it processed the situation. It frantically started to flail around.

"Stop! Stop!" Taylor whisper yelled, alarmed at it's sudden action.

"Taylor?" It asked, turning its head around. Taylor gasped as she comprehended what she was seeing. Her brother!

"Kevin?" Taylor strained against the rope. She panicked as she realized she needed to get them both out, which was going to be even harder.

"What is this place?" Kevin asked in a hushed voice.

"I don't know.. But we have to find a way out." Taylor responded.

"Any ideas?" Taylor asked Kevin, hoping for a good answer.

"I think I might have an idea. Try to lean forward until your toes hit the ground. Don't fall." he said, his eyebrows knitting together as he summoned up a plan.

She nodded, slightly leaning forward. She squeezed her eyes shut, hoping that she wouldn't face plant. With a sigh of relief, she felt her toes hit solid ground.

"Okay, what now?" Taylor questioned. She was anxious to get out, afraid that the man would come in at any second.

"Try to get over to me." Kevin instructed.
