Neil's POV:
I jump back quickly. Did Max just growl? What is going on?! That's it I have to keep going and figure this out. If not for my sake then for Max. "Max it's ok it's me Breathe" he winced in pain. "What's wrong what are your symptoms?" He groaned and attempted to sit up. It was getting late and the sun had already set. Something inside me was yelling at me to run for some reason.
Max started panting heavily his eyes feverish. "I-it it hurts"

Max's POV
I feel like I'm dying. My veins feel like ice but the rest of my body feels like it's burning up and my bones feel like they're being chipped away at slowly.
"I should go get David he'll help" Neil turned to leave and I quickly grabbed his wrist "Please it's dark outside and he's probably already asleep"
"M-Max let go! You're hurting me!" Neil pulled hard and I let go. I stood up suddenly energized. I was suddenly hyper aware of my surroundings. I heard my heart pounding in my ears. No. Not my heart Neil's. He kept pulling till we were both outside the tent the moonlight showering down on us.
My skin began to sting and I let go of Neil beginning the scratch at my skin. It felt like it was too small like I needed to tear it off. My eyes stung and adjusted to the dark. I started to hyperventilate,no,it was more like a pant. I was panting. Neil came closer holding his hands up in surrender, "Max listen to me and breathe"
Don't listen to him!
A rough voice in my head told me but I didn't trust it. It's Neil he's got my back I know he won't hurt me. That was the last thing I thought before a wave of excruciating pain washed over me and I blacked out.
