Watching Him Become a Marine

Chapter 1: A Little Background

So my name is Chloe and my boyfriends name is Kameryn. In one month we will have been together for a year. Which in high school is pretty exciting. We live in a small town and relationships arent known to last long. But ours has.

We got together by mistake, my friends stole my phone and sent him a message and his friend was texting me trying to get back together with me, but me and Kameryn ended up together by the end of the night and we have been since.

We dont fight, we support each other in everything we do, and i simply dont know what i would do without him.

Many people would think less than a year doesnt give you something to build a life on, but i have. We have. We have ideas of where we want to move, what we want our house to look like, and what we want at our wedding.

We have planned all of this but we are still in high school. We are both sophomores, and he is 2 years older than me. Which means he isn't going into the marines for another 2 years, and we may not even be together then. But i dont have any plans on that.

But we have plans for the future. I want to go to purdue university and become a vet, which is 7-8 years. He has always wanted to be a marine, which you probably could have guessed from the title. But while im in college he will be serving. For 8 years, back to back missions, nonstop danger.

At the beginning of our relationship I was warned by everyone that being with a marine is hard. And there is a lot of stress. And it scared me, it still does. It is absolutely terrifying. Not knowing where he will be, what could happen, if hes hurt. It scares me so much that in a second I could lose him, forever.

But i cant stop him, and i wont try, because this is his dream. And i never want to hold him back. And for that reason, I am writing this.
