Morning came, and as always, we were running late.

"We're gonna miss the bus," I say, glancing at my watch. "We're gonna be late. And it's all your fault." Silence.

"Kim Taehyung!"

"Yeah, yeah I'm coming," he shouts from his room, "Just give me a minute."

"We don't have a minute."

"It's fine," he says, finally ready to leave, "Most teachers don't care if your late. Who do you have first period anyway?"

"I don't know." I look at my timetable. "Some Dr Lee."

Tae gapes at me in shock and I can't help but laugh at his antics. "I can't tell if you're trying to be ridiculous or not."

"He hates it when people are late, you're so dead."

"Yeah well, I'll be 'dead' either way, so we may as well get moving."

"Enter." I walk through the open doorway into the classroom. The classroom is perfectly symmetrical, with 20 or so people sitting at rectangular desks, two students to each. All eyes are on me. I look back at them, my eyes wide and innocent, before looking at Dr Lee. He is probably around 40, wearing a dark blue suit and matching striped tie. He looks at me amusedly, leaning back in his chair.

"Your name miss?"

"Juhee. Choi Juhee."

"Well Miss Choi, seeing as you are new here, I'll let you off easy this time, but be warned Miss Choi, I do not tolerate students coming into class la-"

"Sorry I'm late sir." Jungkook bursts into the room, and for the second time in two days, he almost knocks me over.

"Juhee?" He then turns to Lee, who looks rather irritated at the whole scene. A faint burst of laughter starts, but instantly dissipates to silence when Lee slams his hand on the desk.

"Silence!" He barks.

"Mr Jeon," a predatory gleam appears in his eyes, "Explain. Now."

"Well..." he begins, glancing at me, "You see..."

"Yes, I think I do see," Lee comments dryly, "Detention Mr Jeon. This afternoon. And if you're late again, that's detention for every Monday till you graduate. You got that?"

Jungkook doesn't reply for a second, and I can already see the wheels in his mind turning.

"On Mondays, I have spor-"

"What he means to say sir, is that he understands, and he won't be late again," I interject. Jungkook twists around to look at me, brows furrowed, his dark irises searching mine. For an impossible moment, I feel rivers of heat racing through my chest, but in the next, it's gone. I feel nothing.

Another wave of laughter. Lee's lips twitch. I can't tell if he's angry or pleased.

"Mr Jeon?" Lee drawls. He doesn't reply, and I pinch his arm.

"Yeah, I won't be late."

"Take your seats then."

I head towards an empty table near the front of the room, with Jungkook sitting near the back of the room. Foolish. It'd been so foolish to help him. What had I been thinking?

"Mr Jeon, I see that Miss Park is absent from my class."

"Joy is not here sir."

"Then Miss Choi can be your temporary lab partner for today."
