That night after their confession they sat beside each other watching the stars. Kenta reached out and grabbed his hand.
"The night sky is so pretty."
"Yea.." Ryuga wasn't really paying attention. "The stars are really.. really.. bright. They're really bright."
"You're not even paying attention! What's better than the sky?"
"You." Kenta was blushing madly.
He turned to look at him. "Ryuugaaa... that's cheesy."
"I'll be cheesy all I want." He smirked. Kenta returned his smirk with a smile.
The dragon emperor leaned in slightly. Kenta notice and realized he wanted something, something the boy wasn't sure he was ready for.
Kenta leaned back slightly, nervous and scared. "I-I'm nervous.."
He leaned backwards. "O-oh."
Awkward silence commenced between them. Kenta didn't like that. He didn't think he was any good at kissing since he had never done it before. All of this was new.
Kenta had to be brave. He wanted to be brave. His mind was now made up. He was going to do it. He was going to kiss Ryuga.
Or so he thought. His body wouldn't move. Stupid brain! Tell his body to move!
"Ryuga?"
"Hm?" The boy looked at him.
Kenta didn't say anything else. Instead, he grabbed Ryuga's face with his hands, and kissed him.
Ryuga was taken aback before he kissed back. He had guessed Kenta wanted to settle his nerves before. Whatever the reason, it didn't matter. All that mattered, was here and now.
"I love you." Kenta told him after they parted.
"I love you, too. Always."
"Always."
